1.1 Intended Use
The Parkside® PGSA 4 A2 is intended for trimming grass edges and small shrubs in domestic gardens. Any other use not expressly approved in this manual may damage the tool and pose a serious risk to the user. The device is not intended for commercial or industrial use.
2. Safety Instructions
Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent electric shock, injury, and fire.
2.1 General Safety Warnings for Power Tools

2.2 Battery Tool Use and Care
- Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.
- Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
- When battery pack is not in use, keep it away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
- Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.

4. Setup
4.1 Charging the Battery
The device is equipped with an integrated 4V (2.0 Ah) Lithium-ion battery. Before first use, fully charge the battery.

- Always handle blades with care, as they are sharp. Use the blade protection cover when storing or transporting the device.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Switching On/Off
- To switch on: Press and hold the safety lock button, then press the On/Off switch. Release the safety lock button once the tool starts.
- To switch off: Release the On/Off switch.
- The tool is designed with a safety lock to prevent accidental starting.
5.2 Trimming Grass Edges
Use the grass shear blade for neat lawn edges.
- Ensure the grass shear blade is securely attached.
- Hold the device firmly with both hands if possible, or one hand if comfortable and safe, ensuring a stable grip.
- Guide the blade along the lawn edge, maintaining a consistent height.
- Move the tool slowly and steadily for best results.
5.3 Trimming Shrubs
Use the shrub shear blade for shaping small bushes and hedges.
- Ensure the shrub shear blade is securely attached.
- For ergonomic work, you can rotate the soft-grip handle by 180°.
- Hold the device firmly and guide the blade through the shrub branches.
- Do not attempt to cut branches thicker than 8 mm.
- Work in small sections, moving the tool smoothly.
