3. Setup and Planting

  1. Prepare the Pot: The pot does not come with pre-drilled drainage holes. If drainage is required for your plant, create holes at the bottom of the pot. A specially designed mark is present at the bottom to guide this process. A pointed object, such as a heated nail, can be used for this purpose.
  2. Add Drainage Layer (Optional): If drainage holes are made, consider adding a layer of gravel or clay pebbles at the bottom of the pot before adding soil to further improve drainage.
  3. Add Soil: Fill the pot with appropriate potting soil for your chosen plant, leaving enough space for the plant's root ball.
  4. Planting: Carefully place your plant into the pot. Ensure the plant is centered and at the correct depth.
  5. Fill with Soil: Add more soil around the plant, gently pressing down to remove air pockets. Leave a small gap from the rim for watering.
  6. Watering: Water the plant thoroughly after planting. The saucer will collect any excess water.

4. Operating and Placement

The KADAX pot is designed for indoor use. Place it in an area that provides suitable lighting and humidity conditions for your specific plant.

This pot is versatile and can accommodate various indoor plants such as orchids, cyclamen, primroses, snake plants (Sansevieria trifasciata), spider plants, string of hearts (Ceropegia), guzmania, begonia, bromeliads, cacti, dracaena, kalanchoe, potted roses, and various ferns. It is also suitable for growing fresh herbs like lemon balm, mint, tarragon, or thyme.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the pot and saucer with a damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. For stubborn stains, use mild soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the plastic surface.
  • Watering: Monitor the soil moisture regularly. Water as needed, ensuring that excess water drains into the saucer. Empty the saucer promptly to prevent root rot, especially if drainage holes were added.
  • Repotting: As your plant grows, it may require repotting into a larger pot. Follow standard repotting procedures for your specific plant type.

6. Troubleshooting

Issue: Waterlogging / Poor Drainage

Problem: The soil remains too wet, or water does not drain effectively, potentially leading to root rot.

Solution: The KADAX pot does not include pre-drilled drainage holes. If you are experiencing waterlogging, it is likely that drainage holes have not been created. Refer to Section 3, "Setup and Planting," step 1, for instructions on how to create drainage holes using a pointed object like a heated nail at the marked spot on the pot's bottom. Ensure the saucer is emptied regularly after watering.
