5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
Regular cleaning helps maintain optimal performance and longevity of your system.
- Exterior: Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior surfaces. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Dust Filters: Periodically remove and clean the dust filters (if applicable) to ensure unrestricted airflow. Use compressed air or a soft brush.
- Interior: With the system powered off and unplugged, use compressed air to remove dust buildup from internal components and fans.
5.2 Fan Maintenance
Ensure fans are free from obstructions and excessive dust. If a fan becomes noisy or stops spinning, inspect it for debris. If issues persist, consider replacement.
6. Troubleshooting
This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| System does not power on. | Loose power cables, PSU switch off, faulty power button connection. | Check all power connections (wall, PSU, motherboard). Ensure PSU switch is ON. Verify front panel power button connection to motherboard. |
| Excessive fan noise. | Dust buildup, loose fan, fan operating at high RPM. | Clean fans and dust filters. Ensure fans are securely mounted. Adjust fan curves in BIOS/software. |
| High component temperatures. | Insufficient airflow, dust buildup, improper fan configuration. | Ensure proper fan orientation (intake/exhaust). Clean dust filters. Verify all fans are spinning. |
| Front I/O ports not working. | Loose internal cable connections. | Check USB 3.0, USB-C, and audio header connections on the motherboard. |
