1. Introduction

The PEXMOR 46 LBS Electric Trolling Motor (Model ETM83) is designed to provide efficient and reliable propulsion for various small watercraft, including jon boats, kayaks, and fishing boats. This 12V electric motor features an adjustable handle, multiple speed settings, and a clear LED battery indicator for convenient operation.

2. What's in the Box

Upon unpacking, ensure all components are present and undamaged. The package should contain:

3. Setup

3.1 Propeller Installation

  1. Align the propeller with the motor shaft.
  2. Secure the propeller using the provided nut and washer. Ensure it is tightened firmly but do not overtighten.

3.2 Transom Mounting

  1. Position the motor's transom clamp onto the boat's transom.
  2. Adjust the clamp's thickness using the knobs to ensure a secure fit on your transom.
  3. Tighten the clamp screws firmly to prevent movement during operation.

3.3 Battery Connection

Connect the motor's red lead to the positive (+) terminal of a 12V deep cycle marine battery and the black lead to the negative (-) terminal. Ensure connections are secure and free from corrosion. (Battery not included).

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Speed Control

The motor features a variable handle with 5 forward speeds and 3 reverse speeds. Rotate the handle to select your desired speed. Start with lower speeds and gradually increase as needed.

4.2 Adjustable Handle

The 6-inch telescoping handle can be adjusted for comfortable steering. Extend or retract the handle to suit your preference.

4.3 Depth and Angle Adjustment

Adjust the motor's shaft angle by pressing the designated button to adapt to various sailing conditions. The depth of the propeller in the water can be adjusted using the knob on the shaft, ensuring optimal performance and clearance.

4.4 LED Battery Indicator

The 1-10 LED light indicator on the motor head displays the battery's capacity. Green lights indicate sufficient power, while 1-3 red lights serve as a low power warning, reminding you to recharge or replace the battery.

5. Maintenance

  • After Each Use: Rinse the motor thoroughly with fresh water, especially after saltwater use, to prevent corrosion.
  • Propeller Inspection: Regularly check the propeller for any fishing line, weeds, or debris that may be wrapped around it. Remove any obstructions to ensure efficient operation. Inspect for chips or cracks.
  • Battery Care: Keep your 12V deep cycle marine battery charged and stored in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Connections: Periodically check all electrical connections for tightness and corrosion. Clean terminals as necessary.
  • Storage: Store the motor in a dry, protected area when not in use.

6. Troubleshooting
