2. Important Safety Information
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, observe the following:
- Read all instructions before operating the appliance.
- Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by qualified person(s) in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including fire-rated construction.
- Sufficient air is needed for proper combustion and exhausting of gases through the flue (chimney) of fuel burning equipment to prevent back-drafting.
- When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, do not damage electrical wiring and other hidden utilities.
- Ducted fans must always be vented to the outdoors.
- Do not use this unit with any external solid-state speed control device.
- To reduce the risk of fire, use only metal ductwork.
- Clean grease filters frequently. Grease should not be allowed to accumulate on fan or filter.
- Never leave surface units unattended at high settings. Boilovers cause smoking and greasy spillovers that may ignite.
- Always turn hood ON when cooking at high heat or when flaming foods.
- Use appropriate pan size. Always use cookware appropriate for the size of the surface element.

4.2 Mounting Instructions (General Steps)
- Preparation: Turn off power at the circuit breaker. Determine the exact mounting location on the ceiling, ensuring it is centered above your cooking surface.
- Ceiling Support: Ensure the ceiling structure can support the weight of the range hood (approx. 58.9 pounds). Reinforcement may be necessary.
- Ductwork Installation: Install the 6-inch ductwork from the ceiling opening to the exterior vent. Ensure minimal bends for optimal airflow.
- Mounting Bracket Installation: Secure the ceiling mounting bracket to the ceiling joists using appropriate hardware.
- Hood Assembly: Attach the main hood body to the mounting bracket. Connect the ducting to the hood's exhaust outlet.
- Chimney Installation: Install the adjustable chimney sections, sliding them into place to cover the ductwork and mounting hardware.
4.3 Electrical Connection
Connect the range hood's power cord to a grounded 120V electrical outlet. Ensure the connection is secure and complies with local electrical codes. If direct wiring is required, consult a qualified electrician.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Control Panel Overview
The Tieasy Island Range Hood features an intuitive touch control panel for easy operation of all functions.

5.2 Fan Speed Operation
The hood offers a 3-speed fan to accommodate various cooking needs, from light simmering to heavy searing.
- Low Speed: Ideal for simmering and light cooking.
- Medium Speed: Suitable for general cooking and stir-frying.
- High Speed: Provides maximum suction (700 CFM) for heavy smoke and odors, such as searing.

The hood also features Gesture Sensing Control. Wave your hand gently in front of the control panel to adjust fan speed or activate the delayed shut-off function.

5.3 LED Lighting
The range hood is equipped with 4 highly efficient and bright LED lights (1.5W each) to illuminate your cooking area. Use the touch control panel to turn the lights on or off.

5.4 Dual Ventilation Mode
Your range hood supports both ducted and ductless (recirculating) ventilation modes.
- Ducted Mode: Air is extracted from the kitchen and vented directly outside through ductwork. This is the most effective method for removing smoke, odors, and moisture.
- Ductless Mode: For installations where external venting is not possible, the hood can operate in recirculating mode. This requires the installation of carbon filters (sold separately) which purify the air before recirculating it back into the kitchen.

Figure 5.5: A visual comparison of the two ventilation modes: Ducted Mode, where air is expelled outside, and Ductless Mode, which requires carbon filters to filter and recirculate air within the kitchen.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Filter Cleaning
The range hood is equipped with permanent stainless steel baffle filters designed to trap grease and oil. Regular cleaning is essential for optimal performance.
- Frequency: Clean filters every 3-6 weeks depending on cooking frequency and type.
- Removal: Gently slide or unlatch the filters from the hood.
- Cleaning Method: Filters are dishwasher safe. Alternatively, wash by hand with hot water and a mild detergent. Ensure filters are completely dry before reinstallation.
6.2 Surface Cleaning
Clean the exterior surfaces of the range hood regularly to maintain its appearance.
- Use a soft cloth dampened with warm water and a mild, non-abrasive detergent.
- For stainless steel surfaces, wipe in the direction of the grain to prevent streaking.
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners, steel wool, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
6.3 LED Light Replacement
The LED lights are designed for long life. If replacement is necessary, contact qualified service personnel or refer to specific instructions provided with replacement parts. Ensure power is disconnected before attempting any light replacement.
