3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Inflating a Tire

  1. Place the pump on a flat, stable surface.
  2. Open the valve cap on your tire.
  3. Push the SmartHead DX1 firmly onto the tire valve. For Presta valves, ensure the valve core is unscrewed first. For Schrader valves, simply push on.
  4. Flip the lever on the SmartHead DX1 to the locked position to secure it to the valve.
  5. Begin pumping by pushing the handle down and pulling it up in a smooth, continuous motion. The TwinTurbo technology will efficiently transfer air.
  6. Monitor the pressure gauge to reach the desired PSI or Bar.
  7. Once the desired pressure is reached, flip the lever on the SmartHead DX1 to the unlocked position and carefully remove it from the valve.
  8. Replace the valve cap.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your pump.

  • Cleaning: Wipe down the pump body and hose with a damp cloth after use to remove dirt and grime. Avoid using harsh chemicals.
  • Storage: Store the pump in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the hose is neatly coiled and secured.
  • Hose and Head Inspection: Periodically check the hose for cracks or damage and the SmartHead DX1 for wear. Replace if necessary.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your pump, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Pump not building pressure:
    • Ensure the SmartHead DX1 is securely attached and the lever is in the locked position on the tire valve.
    • Check for any leaks in the hose or connections.
    • Verify the tire valve core is not stuck or damaged.
  • Difficulty attaching to valve:
    • For Presta valves, ensure the valve core is fully unscrewed before attaching the pump head.
    • Ensure the SmartHead DX1 is aligned correctly with the valve.
  • Inaccurate pressure readings:
    • Ensure the pump is used on a flat surface and the gauge is at eye level for accurate reading.
    • Compare with another known accurate gauge if possible.
