Introduction
This user manual provides comprehensive instructions for the AT&T BL102-2 DECT 6.0 2-Handset Cordless Phone System. It covers setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your device. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the phone system.

Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of each handset.
- Connect the battery pack plug into the jack inside the compartment, ensuring correct polarity.
- Place the battery pack inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover.
2. Base Unit and Charger Connection
- Plug one end of the telephone line cord into the TEL LINE jack on the back of the base unit.
- Plug the other end of the telephone line cord into a telephone wall jack.
- Plug the small end of the AC adapter into the POWER jack on the back of the base unit.
- Plug the large end of the AC adapter into an electrical outlet not controlled by a wall switch.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the handset charger.
3. Initial Charging
Place each handset in its respective charging cradle (base unit or charger). The CHARGE light on the handset will illuminate. Allow the handsets to charge for at least 10 hours before initial use to ensure full battery capacity.
Operating Instructions
Making and Answering Calls
- To Make a Call: Press PHONE/FLASH or SPEAKER, then dial the number.
- To Answer a Call: Press PHONE/FLASH or SPEAKER when the phone rings.
- To End a Call: Press OFF/CANCEL or place the handset in the charger.

Answering System
The digital answering system can record up to 22 minutes of messages, announcements, and memos.
- Turning On/Off: Press ANSWER ON/OFF on the base unit.
- Playing Messages: Press PLAY/STOP on the base unit.
- Skipping Messages: Press SKIP during message playback.
- Deleting Messages: Press DELETE during message playback.

Smart Call Blocker
This feature helps to block unwanted calls. Robocalls are automatically blocked, and you can manually blacklist numbers.
- To Block a Number: During a call or after reviewing Caller ID history, press the CALL BLOCK button on the handset.
- The call block directory can store up to 1,000 entries.

Caller ID Announce
The handset announces the name of the caller, allowing you to screen calls without looking at the display.

Audio Assist
Instantly boost the call volume for clearer conversations by pressing the Audio Assist button on the side of the handset.

The built-in full-duplex speakerphone on the handset allows both parties to speak and be heard simultaneously, enhancing conversation quality.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the phone system with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use cleaning sprays or liquid cleaners.
- Battery Care: To maintain optimal battery performance, fully discharge the battery periodically by leaving the handset off the charger until the battery low indicator appears. Then, fully recharge the battery for 10 hours.
- Storage: If storing the phone for an extended period, remove the battery from the handset.
Troubleshooting

| No dial tone. | Ensure the telephone line cord is securely plugged into both the base unit and the wall jack. Check if the AC adapter is properly connected to the base unit and a working electrical outlet. |
| Handset does not charge. | Ensure the handset is correctly seated in the charging cradle. Verify the AC adapter for the charger is plugged in. Clean the charging contacts on both the handset and charger with a dry cloth. |
| Poor sound quality or static. | Move the handset closer to the base unit. Avoid placing the base unit near other electronic devices (e.g., microwaves, computers) that may cause interference. Check for loose connections. |
| Cannot make or receive calls. | Check if the phone line is active. Ensure the handset battery is charged. If Smart Call Blocker is active, verify that the incoming number is not blocked. |
