Model: 07 Full Black Velour

Introduction

Thank you for choosing the HomeLife Full Black Velour Platform Bed. This manual provides detailed instructions for the assembly, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new bed frame. Please read all instructions carefully before beginning assembly and retain this manual for future reference.

This platform bed is designed for use with a full-size mattress and does not require a box spring. It features a durable velour fabric finish and a sturdy wooden slat support system.

Setup and Assembly

Assembly is required for this product. It is recommended to have two people for assembly. Please ensure all parts are present before beginning. The bed frame typically arrives in two separate boxes.

Required Tools (Not Included)

  • Power Drill (for securing wooden slats)

Included Tools

  • Allen Key (for bolts)

Assembly Steps

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully unpack all components and hardware from the boxes. Place them on a soft, clean surface to prevent scratches. Verify all parts against the included parts list.
  2. Attach Side Rails to Headboard: Connect the side rails to the headboard using the provided bolts and Allen key. Ensure the connections are secure.
  3. Attach Side Rails to Footboard: Connect the side rails to the footboard using the provided bolts and Allen key. Ensure all connections are tight and the frame is stable.
  4. Install Center Support Beam: Position the center support beam along the middle of the bed frame. Secure it to the headboard and footboard brackets.
  5. Place Wooden Slats: Lay the wooden slats across the bed frame, ensuring even spacing. The slats are designed to provide direct mattress support.
  6. Secure Slats: Use a power drill to secure the wooden slats to the side rails. This step is crucial for the bed's stability and longevity.

Operating Instructions

Once assembled, your HomeLife Platform Bed is ready for use. Simply place your full-size mattress directly onto the wooden slats. A box spring is not required.

Weight Capacity

Do not load more than 400 pounds on the bed frame. Exceeding this weight limit may compromise the structural integrity of the bed and void any warranty.

Care and Maintenance

  • Regular Inspection: Periodically check all bolts and connections to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten as necessary to maintain stability.
  • Cleaning Velour Fabric: For general cleaning, gently vacuum the velour fabric to remove dust and debris. For spills or stains, spot clean immediately with a clean, damp cloth and a mild fabric cleaner. Test the cleaner on an inconspicuous area first. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Protect from Sharp Objects: Be careful around sharp edges and objects that could snag or tear the velour fabric.
  • Avoid Excessive Moisture: Do not expose the bed frame to excessive moisture or humidity, as this can damage the wood and fabric.

Troubleshooting

  • Bed Frame Feels Wobbly:

Check all connection points, especially where the side rails meet the headboard and footboard. Ensure all bolts are securely tightened. Also, verify that the wooden slats are properly installed and secured to the side rails with screws.

  • Squeaking Noises:

Squeaking can often be resolved by re-tightening all assembly bolts. If the issue persists, check for any friction points between the mattress and the frame, or between wooden slats and the frame. Applying felt pads or a thin cloth at these points may help.

  • Missing or Damaged Parts:

If you discover any missing or damaged parts upon unpacking, do not proceed with assembly. Contact customer support immediately for assistance and replacement parts.
