3.1 Key Features

4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Connecting the Telephone

  1. Connect one end of the coiled handset cord to the handset and the other end to the handset jack on the left side of the phone base.
  2. Connect one end of the telephone line cord to the LINE jack on the back of the phone base.
  3. Connect the other end of the telephone line cord to your wall telephone jack.
  4. The phone is now ready for use. No external power adapter is required as it operates on line power.

4.2 Programming Quick Dial Buttons (SOS, M1, M2)

The SOS, M1, and M2 buttons allow for one-touch dialing to pre-programmed numbers. These must be set up before use.

  1. Lift the handset or press the SPEAKER button to go off-hook.
  2. Press the STORE button.
  3. Dial the telephone number you wish to store (up to 16 digits).
  4. Press the STORE button again.
  5. Press the desired quick dial button (SOS, M1, or M2) to save the number.
  6. Hang up the handset or press the SPEAKER button to end the programming mode.

Note: To change a stored number, repeat the programming steps.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Making a Call

  1. Lift the handset or press the SPEAKER button.
  2. Dial the desired telephone number using the large numerical buttons.
  3. Wait for the call to connect.
  4. To end the call, replace the handset or press the SPEAKER button.

5.2 Answering a Call

When the phone rings, lift the handset or press the SPEAKER button to answer.

5.3 Using Quick Dial Buttons

To dial a pre-programmed number, simply lift the handset or press the SPEAKER button, then press the desired quick dial button (SOS, M1, or M2).

5.4 Voice Boosting Function

For amplified incoming audio, press the BOOST button during a call. The voice boosting indicator light will illuminate. Press BOOST again to deactivate.

5.5 Adjusting Volumes

  • Handset Volume: Adjust the volume during a call using the slider switch on the side of the handset.
  • Speakerphone Volume: Use the SPEAKER VOLUME slider switch located on the side of the phone base (refer to Figure 3.4).
  • Ringer Volume: Use the RINGER HI/LO/OFF switch on the side of the phone base to set the ringer to High, Low, or turn it Off (refer to Figure 3.4).

5.6 Mute Function

During a call, press the MUTE button to temporarily silence your microphone. The other party will not hear you. Press MUTE again to resume conversation.

5.7 Redial Function

To redial the last number called, lift the handset or press the SPEAKER button, then press the REDIAL button.

5.8 Flash Function

The FLASH button is used for certain telephone services, such as call waiting or transferring calls, depending on your telephone service provider. Press FLASH to activate these features.

6. Maintenance and Care

  • Clean the telephone with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Avoid exposing the telephone to excessive moisture, direct sunlight, or extreme temperatures.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble the telephone. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.

7. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your ORNIN S018 telephone, please refer to the following common problems and solutions:
