GoolRC Flysky FS-iA10B Receiver User Manual

Model: FS-iA10B

1. Introduction

The GoolRC Flysky FS-iA10B is a 2.4G 10-channel receiver designed for use with various Flysky transmitters, including the FS-i6, FS-i6S, FS-i6X, FS-i10, FS-GT2E, FS-GT2F, FS-GT2G, FS-it4S, FS-GT5, FS-i8, and FS-TM10. This receiver utilizes the AFHDS 2A (Automatic Frequency Hopping Digital System Second Generation) protocol, providing a reliable and stable connection for remote control models such as airplanes, gliders, and helicopters. It offers a remote control distance of 500~1500m in the air and supports multiple data interfaces including PWM, PPM, i.bus, and s.bus.

2. Setup

Proper setup is crucial for optimal performance and safety. Follow these steps carefully:

2.1. Binding the Receiver

To establish communication between the receiver and your transmitter, a binding process is required. Refer to your specific Flysky transmitter's manual for detailed binding instructions. Generally, this involves putting both the transmitter and receiver into binding mode. The FS-iA10B receiver features an 'UPDATE' button which may also serve as a bind button, or a bind plug may be used with the B/VCC port.

2.2. Antenna Placement

The FS-iA10B receiver is equipped with two 150mm copper tube antennas. Proper antenna placement is vital for maintaining a strong and reliable signal. Ensure the antennas are positioned at a 90-degree angle to each other and away from carbon fiber or metal parts that could shield the signal.

2.3. Power Connection

The receiver operates on a power input of 4.0-6.5V. Connect the power source (e.g., battery or ESC's BEC) to the B/VCC port or any available channel port that provides power. Ensure correct polarity to prevent damage.

3. Operating Instructions

Once the receiver is successfully bound and powered, it will receive signals from your compatible Flysky transmitter. The FS-iA10B provides 10 PWM channels for direct servo connections, as well as PPM, i.bus, and s.bus data interfaces for more advanced setups and flight controllers.

3.1. Channel Output

The receiver outputs signals for up to 10 channels. Connect your servos or other control devices to the corresponding PWM pins (CH1-CH10). The specific function of each channel (e.g., aileron, elevator, throttle, rudder) is determined by your transmitter's configuration.

3.2. Data Interfaces

  • PWM: Standard Pulse Width Modulation output for individual servo control.
  • PPM: Pulse Position Modulation, a single wire output carrying all channel data, often used for flight controllers.
  • i.bus / s.bus: Digital serial bus protocols that transmit all channel data and telemetry over a single wire, offering reduced wiring complexity.

3.3. Compatibility

This receiver is compatible with a wide range of Flysky transmitters and suitable for various RC models. Ensure your transmitter is updated to the latest firmware for optimal compatibility.

4. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and reliable operation of your FS-iA10B receiver, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Storage: Store the receiver in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the receiver. Avoid using solvents or harsh chemicals.
  • Environmental Conditions: The receiver is designed to operate within a temperature range of -10 ℃ to +60 ℃ and a humidity range of 20% to 95%. Avoid exposing it to conditions outside these ranges.
  • Physical Protection: Protect the receiver from physical impact and excessive vibration. Consider using foam or other dampening materials when mounting it in your model.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your FS-iA10B receiver, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Signal/Loss of Control:
    • Ensure the receiver is properly bound to the transmitter. Re-bind if necessary.
    • Check antenna placement and ensure they are not obstructed or damaged.
    • Verify the power supply to the receiver is within the specified 4.0-6.5V range and is stable.
    • Ensure the transmitter is powered on and operating correctly.
    • Important Note: Do not power on the receiver during the setup process to prevent loss of control. Power it on only after all connections are secure and the binding process is initiated from the transmitter.
  • Intermittent Connection:
    • Check for sources of interference (e.g., other 2.4GHz devices, high-power electronics).
    • Inspect all wiring connections for looseness or damage.
    • Ensure the receiver is not mounted too close to noisy electronic components (e.g., ESC, motor).
  • Servos Not Responding:
    • Verify that servos are correctly plugged into the appropriate channels on the receiver.
    • Check the servo itself for damage or malfunction.
    • Confirm that the transmitter's channel assignments match the intended servo functions.
