Installation

The Cornat NERSE1 tap is designed for simple, tool-free installation using a shaft fixing system. Follow these steps for a secure installation:

  1. Prepare the Basin: Ensure the mounting hole on your basin is clean and free of debris. The tap is designed for single-hole installation.
  2. Install the Tap:
    • Insert the flexible connection hoses into the base of the tap. Hand-tighten them securely.
    • Place the rubber gasket onto the base of the tap.
    • Feed the connection hoses and the threaded rod (if separate) through the mounting hole in the basin.
    • From underneath the basin, slide the metal washer and then the fixing nut onto the threaded rod.
    • Tighten the fixing nut by hand, then use the provided tool (or an appropriate wrench) to secure the tap firmly to the basin. Ensure the tap is aligned correctly before fully tightening.
  3. Connect Water Supply:
    • Connect the flexible hoses to your hot and cold water supply lines. The tap is suitable for connection to a water heater or central hot water supply.
    • Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.
  4. Install Push-Open Drain Valve:
    • Assemble the push-open drain valve according to its specific instructions (usually involves placing gaskets and tightening nuts from above and below the basin drain hole).
    • Ensure a watertight seal.
  5. Test for Leaks: Once all connections are made, slowly turn on the main water supply and check for any leaks around the tap base, hose connections, and drain valve.

Operating Instructions

The Cornat NERSE1 features a single-lever design for convenient control of water flow and temperature.

  • Water Flow Control: Lift the lever upwards to increase water flow. Push it downwards to decrease flow and turn off the tap.
  • Temperature Control: Move the lever to the left for hot water and to the right for cold water. Adjust the lever position between hot and cold to achieve the desired water temperature.
  • Push-Open Drain Valve: Press the top of the drain plug to close the drain. Press it again to open the drain.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your tap.

  • Cleaning: Clean the tap regularly with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the matte black finish. Rinse thoroughly with water and dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spots.
  • Aerator Maintenance: The silent aerator (M24 x 1) may require occasional cleaning to remove mineral deposits or debris that can affect water flow. Unscrew the aerator counter-clockwise, clean it under running water, and reattach it.
  • Cartridge Replacement: The tap features an easily replaceable cartridge with low-wear ceramic sealing discs. If you experience persistent dripping or difficulty controlling water temperature/flow, the cartridge may need replacement. Consult a qualified plumber or refer to specific cartridge replacement instructions.
