Vector Optics Veyron 4-16x44mm FFP Riflescope User Manual

Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your Vector Optics Veyron 4-16x44mm First Focal Plane (FFP) Ultra Short Riflescope. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the riflescope to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

The Veyron 4-16x44mm FFP riflescope features a 30mm monotube design, a wide field of view, and a side focus system adjustable down to 10 yards. It incorporates a custom-designed patent reticle, exclusive for 25-meter benchrest target shooting, with a 1.5mm center dot that perfectly matches a 2mm diameter bull-eye target when used at 40x power. The turrets are equipped with a reliable lock system for secure adjustments.

Setup

Mounting the Riflescope

Ensure the riflescope is securely mounted to your rifle using appropriate 30mm scope rings. Proper mounting is crucial for accuracy and to prevent damage to the scope or rifle. Use a torque wrench to tighten mounting screws to the manufacturer's recommended specifications for your rings and rifle. Avoid overtightening.

Eye Relief Adjustment

Adjust the riflescope's position in the rings to achieve optimal eye relief. Eye relief is the distance between your eye and the ocular lens that provides a full, clear field of view. This is critical for comfort, safety, and to prevent "scope bite" during recoil.

Diopter Adjustment

The diopter adjustment ring, located on the ocular (eyepiece) end of the scope, allows you to fine-tune the reticle's focus to your individual eye. Point the scope at a plain, bright background (like a clear sky) and quickly glance through the scope. Adjust the diopter ring until the reticle appears sharp and clear. Do not stare through the scope while adjusting, as your eye will naturally compensate, leading to an inaccurate setting.

Operating the Riflescope

Magnification Adjustment

The Veyron 4-16x44mm FFP riflescope features a variable magnification range from 4x to 16x. Rotate the magnification ring, typically located near the ocular lens, to select your desired magnification level. As this is a First Focal Plane (FFP) scope, the reticle will appear to grow or shrink in size proportionally with the target as you change magnification, ensuring that subtensions remain accurate at all power settings.

Side Focus (Parallax Adjustment)

The side focus knob, located on the left side of the riflescope, is used to eliminate parallax error and achieve a clear image of the target at various distances. Rotate the knob until the target image appears sharpest and the reticle does not appear to shift relative to the target when you move your head slightly. The Veyron's side focus adjusts down to 10 yards.

Windage and Elevation Adjustments

The riflescope features windage (horizontal) and elevation (vertical) adjustment turrets. These turrets are used to zero the scope to your rifle and ammunition. The Veyron 4-16x44mm FFP has 1/10 MIL click adjustments. To make an adjustment, pull up the turret to unlock it, make the desired clicks, and then push down to lock it in place. This turret lock system prevents accidental adjustments.

Reticle Information

The Veyron 4-16x44mm FFP utilizes a custom-designed patent reticle, optimized for 25-meter benchrest target shooting. The reticle features a 1.5mm center dot, which precisely matches a 2mm diameter bull-eye target when the scope is set to 40x magnification. Being a First Focal Plane (FFP) reticle, its subtensions remain consistent relative to the target size across the entire magnification range.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Lenses

To clean the lenses, first use a soft brush or compressed air to remove any loose dust or debris. Then, apply a small amount of lens cleaning solution to a clean microfiber cloth and gently wipe the lens surfaces. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the lens coatings.

Cleaning the Riflescope Body

Wipe the riflescope body with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt and fingerprints. For stubborn grime, a mild soap solution can be used, followed by wiping with a clean, damp cloth and then drying thoroughly. Ensure all caps are in place to protect the lenses during cleaning.

Storage

Store the riflescope in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the provided lens caps to protect the objective and ocular lenses when not in use. If storing for extended periods, consider using a desiccant packet to absorb moisture.
