2. Safety Instructions

4. Setup
- Unpack the Unit: Carefully remove the bug zapper and all accessories from its packaging.
- Attach Collection Tray: Slide the removable collection tray into the bottom of the unit. Ensure it is securely in place.
- Choose Placement: The bug zapper can be placed on a flat surface or hung.
- Flat Surface Placement: Place the unit on a stable, flat surface in the desired area.
- Hanging Placement: Attach the provided hanging chain to the hooks located on the top corners of the unit. Hang the unit from a secure fixture, ensuring it is out of reach of children and pets.
- Connect to Power: Plug the unit into a standard 3-prong electrical outlet.

5. Operating Instructions
- Power On: Locate the red power switch on the top of the unit. Press the switch to the 'ON' position. The UV lights will illuminate.
- Insect Attraction: The illuminated UV lights will attract flying insects to the electrical grid, where they will be zapped.
- Power Off: To turn off the unit, press the power switch to the 'OFF' position.

6. Maintenance
6.1. Cleaning the Unit
- Disconnect Power: Always turn off the unit and unplug it from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
- Discharge Electricity: Wait at least one minute after unplugging to ensure any residual electricity in the grid has dissipated.
- Remove Collection Tray: Gently slide out the removable collection tray from the bottom of the unit.
- Dispose of Insects: Empty the contents of the tray into a waste bin.
- Clean Tray: Wash the collection tray with water and mild soap. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reinserting.
- Clean Grid: Use the provided cleaning brush to carefully remove any insects or debris from the electrical grid. Do not use water or wet cloths on the grid.
- Reassemble: Slide the clean, dry collection tray back into the unit.

6.2. Bulb Replacement
The unit comes with two replacement UV light tubes. Replace bulbs when they no longer illuminate or their effectiveness diminishes.
- Disconnect Power: Turn off and unplug the unit. Wait at least one minute.
- Access Bulbs: Carefully remove the outer protective mesh or cover to access the UV light tubes.
- Remove Old Bulbs: Gently twist the old UV light tubes to disengage them from their sockets and pull them out.
- Install New Bulbs: Insert the new 10W UV light tubes into the sockets, ensuring they are securely twisted into place.
- Reassemble: Replace the protective mesh or cover.

7. Troubleshooting
- Unit Not Turning On:
- Check if the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet.
- Ensure the power switch is in the 'ON' position.
- If the UV lights are not illuminating, the bulbs may need replacement (refer to Section 6.2).
- No Zapping Sound/Ineffective Control:
- Confirm the unit is powered on and the UV lights are active.
- Clean the collection tray and electrical grid regularly to prevent buildup of dead insects (refer to Section 6.1).
- Ensure the unit is placed in an area where insects are present and away from competing light sources.
- Verify that the UV light tubes are functioning correctly. Replace if necessary.
