4. Setup and Installation

The HLK-2M03 module is designed for PCB mounting and requires careful wiring. Ensure all power is disconnected before proceeding with installation.

4.1 Pin Configuration

Refer to the module markings for correct pin identification:

  • AC (x2): Input terminals for AC power (90-245Vac). These pins are interchangeable for live and neutral connections.
  • -Vo: Negative output terminal (0V).
  • +Vo: Positive output terminal (+3.3Vdc).

4.2 Installation Steps

  1. Power Disconnection: Ensure the main power supply is completely disconnected before handling the module.
  2. Mounting: Solder the module securely onto a printed circuit board (PCB) using the designated pin holes. Ensure proper alignment and mechanical stability.
  3. Input Wiring: Connect the AC input lines (Live and Neutral) to the two "AC" pins on the module. Observe local electrical codes and safety standards.
  4. Output Wiring: Connect the load requiring 3.3Vdc to the "+Vo" (positive) and "-Vo" (negative) output pins. Ensure correct polarity.
  5. Verification: Double-check all connections for correctness and security to prevent short circuits or improper operation.

Warning: Incorrect wiring can lead to damage to the module, connected devices, or pose an electrical hazard. If you are unsure, consult a qualified electrician or electronics technician.

5. Operation

Once the HLK-2M03 module is correctly installed and wired, apply the specified AC input voltage (90-245Vac). The module will automatically convert this to a stable 3.3Vdc output. The module is designed for continuous operation within its specified environmental conditions and load limits.

  • Ensure the connected load does not exceed the maximum output current of 600mA to prevent overcurrent protection activation or module damage.
  • The module operates with natural cooling; ensure adequate airflow around the module if it is enclosed to prevent excessive heat buildup, especially under full load.

6. Maintenance

The HLK-2M03 power supply module is designed for long-term, maintenance-free operation. However, adhering to the following guidelines can help ensure its longevity:

  • Environmental Conditions: Operate the module within the specified temperature and humidity ranges. Avoid exposure to extreme conditions, direct sunlight, or corrosive environments.
  • Cleanliness: Keep the module free from dust and debris. If cleaning is necessary, use a soft, dry brush or compressed air. Do not use liquid cleaners.
  • Physical Inspection: Periodically inspect the module and its connections for any signs of physical damage, loose wiring, or discoloration.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that any enclosure housing the module provides sufficient ventilation for natural cooling.

No user-serviceable parts are inside the module. Do not attempt to open or repair the module, as this will void any warranty and may pose a safety risk.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your HLK-2M03 module, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
No output voltage
  • No AC input power.
  • Incorrect wiring of AC input.
  • Module damaged.
  • Verify AC power source is active and connected.
  • Check AC input connections for correct polarity and secure contact.
  • If all connections are correct and power is present, the module may be faulty and require replacement.
Output voltage is unstable or low
  • Load exceeds maximum current (600mA).
  • Poor connections at output terminals.
  • Reduce the load connected to the module.
  • Ensure output connections are secure and free from corrosion.
Module repeatedly shuts down or restarts
  • Overcurrent protection activated due to excessive load (110-150% of max load).
  • Short circuit at the output.
  • Overheating due to insufficient ventilation.
  • Reduce the load to below 600mA. The module will automatically resume operation once the overload is removed.
  • Identify and remove any short circuits on the output. The module will automatically resume.
  • Ensure adequate airflow around the module.

8. Safety Information

Please read and understand all safety instructions before installing or operating the HLK-2M03 module. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury.

  • Electrical Hazard: This module operates with high AC voltages. Always disconnect power before making any connections or performing maintenance.
  • Qualified Personnel: Installation and wiring should only be performed by qualified personnel familiar with electrical safety standards.
  • Isolation: The module provides input-to-output isolation. Do not bypass this isolation.
  • Environment: Do not expose the module to water, moisture, or flammable materials. Ensure it is installed in a well-ventilated area.
  • Overload Protection: Do not exceed the specified output current (600mA). Overloading can cause damage or fire.
  • Proper Grounding: Ensure the system incorporating this module is properly grounded according to local electrical codes.
