1. Introduction

The SureFire Mini Scoutlight Pro M340C is a compact, high-output LED tactical light designed for versatile mounting options and reliable performance. It delivers 500 lumens of light, suitable for medium to longer-range operations, and features a durable aerospace aluminum body.

2. Safety Information

  • Eye Safety: Never look directly into the light beam or shine it into the eyes of people or animals. The high-intensity light can cause temporary vision impairment or permanent eye damage.
  • Heat: The light head may become hot during prolonged use. Exercise caution when handling to prevent burns.
  • Battery Handling: Use only specified CR123A lithium batteries. Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries. Do not dispose of batteries in fire. Keep batteries out of reach of children.
  • Mounting: Ensure the light is securely mounted to prevent accidental detachment during use.

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Unscrew the tailcap of the Mini Scoutlight Pro by turning it counter-clockwise.
  2. Insert one CR123A lithium battery with the positive (+) terminal facing towards the light head.
  3. Screw the tailcap back on clockwise until it is finger-tight. Ensure the O-ring is properly seated to maintain water resistance.

4.2 Mounting the Light

The Mini Scoutlight Pro features a Low-Profile Mount (LPM) for attachment to MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny or M-LOK rails.

  1. Identify the desired mounting position on your MIL-STD-1913 or M-LOK rail.
  2. Loosen the mounting screw(s) on the LPM.
  3. Position the light onto the rail, ensuring the mounting clamps engage correctly with the rail slots.
  4. Tighten the mounting screw(s) firmly to secure the light. Do not overtighten.

5. Operation

The Mini Scoutlight Pro utilizes a Z68 momentary/constant-on pushbutton switch for activation.

  • Momentary-On: Press and hold the pushbutton switch. The light will remain on as long as the button is held. Release the button to turn the light off.
  • Constant-On: Press the pushbutton switch fully until it clicks. The light will remain on. Press the button again until it clicks to turn the light off.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

  • Body: Wipe the aerospace aluminum body with a soft, damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Lens: Gently clean the tempered window lens with a lens cleaning cloth and a small amount of lens cleaning solution. Do not use harsh chemicals that could damage the lens coating.

6.2 Battery Replacement

When the light output diminishes, it is time to replace the battery.

  1. Unscrew the tailcap counter-clockwise.
  2. Remove the depleted CR123A battery.
  3. Insert a new CR123A lithium battery with the positive (+) terminal facing towards the light head.
  4. Screw the tailcap back on clockwise until it is finger-tight, ensuring the O-ring is properly seated.

6.3 O-Ring Maintenance

Periodically inspect the O-rings for any signs of wear or damage. A thin layer of silicone grease can be applied to the O-rings to maintain their sealing properties and ensure water resistance.
