3.1. Pre-Installation Steps
- Review all parts against the 'What's in the Box' section to confirm everything is present.
- Gather necessary tools (not included).
- Disconnect the vehicle's battery.
- Remove the factory front bumper according to your vehicle's service manual.

3.3. Wiring LED Lights
- Connect the wiring for the 18W LED spotlights. It is recommended to use a dedicated wiring harness and switch (not included) for optimal control and to avoid overloading existing vehicle circuits.
- Ensure all connections are secure and properly insulated to prevent short circuits and corrosion.
- Reconnect the vehicle's battery and test the functionality of the LED lights.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1. Winch Plate Usage
The bumper is equipped with a winch plate rated up to 12,000 pounds. When installing a winch, ensure it fits within the bumper's dimensions and that all controls (e.g., remote plug, free-spool lever) are accessible. Some winches may require relocation of the control box for proper fitment and access.
4.2. LED Spotlights
The four 18W high-power LED spotlights provide additional illumination for off-road driving or low-light conditions. Operate them via a separate switch installed during the wiring process.
5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and appearance of your Hooke Road Front Bumper, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Regular Cleaning: Wash the bumper regularly with mild soap and water to remove dirt, mud, and road grime. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that can damage the textured black powder coat finish.
- Inspect for Damage: Periodically inspect the bumper for any signs of damage, such as chips, scratches, or rust. Touch up any damaged areas with appropriate paint to prevent corrosion.
- Check Fasteners: Routinely check all mounting bolts and hardware for tightness. Vibrations from driving can cause fasteners to loosen over time.
- D-rings: Ensure D-rings are clean and free of debris. Lubricate the pins if they become stiff.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1. Winch Installation/Access Issues
If you encounter difficulty accessing winch controls (e.g., remote plug, free-spool lever) after installation, it may be due to the specific winch model's dimensions. Some winches require the control box to be relocated or the bumper modified for full access. Verify your winch's dimensions against the bumper's internal space before installation.
6.2. LED Lights Not Functioning
- Check all wiring connections for looseness or corrosion.
- Verify that the power source and ground connections are secure.
- Inspect the fuse in the wiring harness (if applicable) and replace if blown.
- Ensure the switch is functioning correctly.
