5.5 Distance to Spot Ratio (D:S)

The Nubee NUB8380 has a Distance to Spot Ratio of 12:1. This means that from a distance of 12 inches, the measurement area (spot) will be 1 inch in diameter. To ensure accurate readings, make sure the target area is larger than the spot size at your chosen measurement distance.

5.6 Emissivity

This thermometer has a fixed emissivity of 0.95, which is suitable for most organic materials, painted surfaces, and many common materials. For highly reflective surfaces, readings may be less accurate.

6. Applications

The Nubee NUB8380 Infrared Thermometer is versatile and can be used for various non-contact temperature measurement tasks:

  • Home Use: Checking HVAC systems, cooking surfaces, pet enclosures, or appliance temperatures.
  • Automotive: Measuring engine components, tires, or brake temperatures.
  • Industrial: Monitoring electrical panels, machinery, or manufacturing processes.
