3. Safety Information

CAUTION: Contains FUNCTIONAL SHARP POINTS. Not for Children under 4 years.

Always supervise young children during use. Keep the stylus away from eyes and face. Do not ingest any components of the kit.

4. Setup

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all Spirograph pieces, scratch sheets, sticker sheets, stylus, and the guide book from the storage tray.
  2. Prepare Workspace: Choose a flat, stable surface for creating your designs. Ensure adequate lighting.
  3. Select Scratch Sheet: Choose a sparkle or rainbow scratch sheet from the provided supply. You can also use the sticker sheets.
  4. Place Ring: Position one of the larger Spirograph rings (the outer gear) onto your chosen scratch sheet. The ring should be held firmly in place to prevent movement during drawing.

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Choose a Gear: Select one of the smaller Spirograph gears. These gears have various holes for different patterns.
  2. Position the Gear: Place the chosen gear inside the larger ring, ensuring its teeth engage with the ring's teeth.
  3. Insert Stylus: Insert the tip of the stylus into one of the holes on the gear.
  4. Create Your Design: While holding the outer ring firmly with one hand, gently move the gear with the stylus in a circular motion. The stylus will scratch away the black coating on the scratch sheet, revealing the shimmering colors underneath. Continue moving the gear until you complete a full pattern. Experiment with different holes in the gear to create varied designs.
  5. Explore the Guide Book: Refer to the included Guide Book for step-by-step instructions and examples of various patterns you can create using different gear and hole combinations.
  6. Use with Regular Paper: The Spirograph gears can also be used with regular paper and your own pens or markers to create traditional Spirograph designs.

  • Stylus Care: Ensure the stylus tip remains intact for optimal scratching. Replace if damaged.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Gears Not Moving Smoothly: Ensure the teeth of the inner gear are fully engaged with the teeth of the outer ring. Apply gentle, consistent pressure with the stylus.
  • Incomplete Patterns: Make sure the outer ring is held firmly in place and does not shift during drawing. Ensure the stylus maintains contact with the scratch sheet throughout the motion.
  • Stylus Not Scratching: Check the stylus tip for any damage or dullness. Ensure you are using the correct side of the scratch paper (the black coated side).
