Product Overview

The CIAO TECH Power Adaptor and Surge Protector is designed to expand your power options and protect your electronic devices. It features three standard AC outlets, two USB charging ports, and a built-in night light with adjustable brightness. This device is UL Listed, ensuring safety and reliability.

Setup Instructions

1. Unpack the Device: Carefully remove the power adaptor from its packaging.
2. Locate a Wall Outlet: Identify a standard 2-prong or 3-prong wall outlet where you intend to use the adaptor.
3. Plug In: Insert the adaptor's prongs directly into the wall outlet. Ensure it is securely seated.
4. Verify Surge Protection: Once plugged in, check for the "Protected" indicator light. A green light indicates that the surge protection is active and functioning correctly.

Operating Instructions

Using AC Outlets:

• The adaptor provides three standard AC outlets. Plug your electronic devices directly into these outlets.
• Ensure that the total power consumption of all connected devices does not exceed the adaptor's maximum rating.

Using USB Charging Ports:

• Two USB ports are available for charging compatible devices such as smartphones, tablets, and other USB-powered gadgets.
• The USB ports provide a combined output of 5V/3.1A.
• Connect your device's USB charging cable to one of the USB ports on the adaptor.

Operating the Night Light:

• The built-in night light features a Dusk-to-Dawn sensor, which automatically turns the light on in low-light conditions and off when it's bright.
• To manually control the night light, tap the touch sensor located on the front of the adaptor.
• Repeatedly tapping the sensor will cycle through three levels of adjustable brightness, allowing you to select your preferred illumination.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Disconnect the adaptor from the wall outlet before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
• Storage: Store the adaptor in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.
• Inspection: Periodically inspect the adaptor for any signs of damage, such as frayed cords or cracked housing. Discontinue use if damage is found.

Troubleshooting

Device Not Charging via AC Outlet:

• Ensure the adaptor is securely plugged into a live wall outlet.
• Check if the "Protected" indicator light is green. If not, the surge protection may have been compromised, or there is no power to the outlet.
• Test the device by plugging it directly into a known working wall outlet to rule out device issues.

Device Not Charging via USB Port:

• Verify the USB cable is properly connected to both the adaptor and your device.
• Try a different USB cable or device to confirm the issue is with the port or the cable/device.
• Ensure the total current draw from both USB ports does not exceed 3.1A.

"Protected" Indicator Light is Off:

• This indicates that the surge protection feature may have absorbed a power surge and is no longer providing protection.
• The adaptor may still function as a power strip, but your devices will no longer be protected from surges.
• Consider replacing the unit to ensure continued surge protection for your valuable electronics.

Night Light Not Functioning:

• Check ambient light conditions; the Dusk-to-Dawn sensor will keep the light off in bright environments.
• Tap the touch sensor to manually activate or adjust the brightness.
• Ensure the adaptor is receiving power.
