  1. Always unplug the iron and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
  2. Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner.
  3. Do not use abrasive pads, scouring powders, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the soleplate.

Descaling (Anti-Calc System):

Your iron features an integrated anti-calc system to reduce limescale build-up. To maintain its effectiveness, perform the following self-cleaning procedure regularly (e.g., once a month, depending on water hardness and usage):

  1. Fill the water tank with tap water up to the 'MAX' line.
  2. Plug in the iron and set the temperature control dial to 'MAX'.
  3. Once the indicator light turns off, unplug the iron.
  4. Hold the iron horizontally over a sink.
  5. Push and hold the self-clean button (if available, otherwise use the steam boost button repeatedly) to flush out water and scale. Hot water and steam will be expelled from the soleplate.
  6. Continue until the water tank is empty.
  7. Plug in the iron again and let it heat up to dry the soleplate.
  8. Unplug and let it cool completely before storing.

Storage:

After each use, unplug the iron, empty the water tank, and allow it to cool completely. Store the iron vertically on its heel rest in a safe, dry place.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your iron, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Iron does not heat up:
    • Check if the iron is properly plugged into a working electrical outlet.
    • Ensure the temperature control dial is set to a temperature above the minimum.
  • No steam or insufficient steam:
    • Check if the water tank is filled.
    • Ensure the temperature setting is high enough for steam production (usually '••' or higher).
    • Verify that the steam control selector is set to a steam position.
    • The soleplate may be clogged with scale. Perform the descaling procedure.
  • Water drips from the soleplate:
    • The temperature may be too low for steam. Increase the temperature setting.
    • The steam control selector might be set to a steam position while the iron is not hot enough.
    • Do not overfill the water tank.
  • Brown stains on fabric:
    • The soleplate may be dirty. Clean the soleplate as described in the maintenance section.
    • Limescale may be present in the water tank. Perform the descaling procedure.
