4. Operating Instructions
Once installed, the iSpring SF2S shower filter operates automatically. Simply turn on your shower as usual to receive filtered water. The filter's design ensures that water pressure is maintained, providing a comfortable shower experience without significant flow reduction.
5. Maintenance
Filter Cartridge Replacement:
The SF2S model is designed for use with FSF2 replacement cartridges. The filter cartridge should be replaced every 6 to 9 months, or after approximately 12,000 gallons of use, depending on your water quality and usage frequency. Regular replacement ensures optimal filtration performance.

Figure 5.1: High Performance and Lifespan. The filter cartridge provides up to 12,000 gallons of filtered water.
Cleaning the Cartridge:
For water sources with high sediment content, you may occasionally flip and rinse the filter cartridge with hot water to clean it. This can help extend the cartridge's effective lifespan between replacements.
6. Troubleshooting
- Leaks at Connections: Ensure that plumber's tape was applied correctly and generously (4-6 wraps) to all threaded connections. Hand-tighten all connections firmly. Avoid overtightening with tools, which can damage threads.
- Reduced Water Flow: If water flow significantly decreases, the filter cartridge may be clogged with sediment or has reached the end of its lifespan. Try cleaning the cartridge as described in the Maintenance section, or replace it with a new FSF2 cartridge.
