Please read all safety instructions carefully before installation and operation to ensure safe and proper use of your BWT Aqua Filter system.

3. Components Overview

Your BWT Aqua Filter AQA Drink Pure Loft system typically includes the following main components:

BWT Magnesium Mineralized Water filter cartridge

4. Setup and Installation

The BWT Aqua Filter AQA Drink Pure Loft system is designed for under-sink installation and direct connection to your water supply. Professional installation is recommended.

4.1. Pre-Installation Checks

  1. Turn off Water Supply: Locate and turn off the main water supply to your kitchen sink.
  2. Remove Existing Tap (if applicable): Disconnect and remove your old kitchen tap.
  3. Install New Tap: Mount the BWT 2-way water tap into the sink hole. Secure it from underneath with the provided fittings.
  4. Connect Water Hoses: Connect the hot and cold water hoses from the new tap to your existing hot and cold water supply lines.
  5. Install Filter Head and Cartridge: Mount the filter head securely under the sink. Insert the magnesium filter cartridge into the filter head. The filter cartridge can be installed either horizontally or vertically.
  6. Connect Filter System: Connect the dedicated filtered water line from the tap to the filter head. Connect the filter head to the cold water supply line using the provided T-connector.
  7. Install BWT AQA Monitor: Mount the AQA monitor in an accessible, dry location under the sink. Connect the flow meter (if separate) in-line with the filtered water supply to the monitor. Connect the monitor to a 12V power source if required.
  8. Check for Leaks: Slowly turn on the main water supply and check all connections for leaks. Tighten any leaking connections.
  9. Flush the System: Before first use, flush the filtered water line for several minutes (e.g., 5-10 liters) to remove any air and carbon fines from the new filter.

5. Operating Instructions

Your BWT Aqua Filter AQA Drink Pure Loft tap features two distinct levers for easy selection of water type.

5.1. Dispensing Water

5.2. AQA Monitor Usage

The BWT AQA Monitor tracks the remaining capacity of your filter cartridge and displays water hardness.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your BWT Aqua Filter system.

6.1. Filter Cartridge Replacement

The filter cartridge needs to be replaced when its capacity is depleted, as indicated by the BWT AQA Monitor, or at least every 6-12 months, depending on water quality and usage.

  1. Turn off Water Supply: Close the shut-off valve to the filter system.
  2. Depressurize: Open the filtered water tap briefly to release pressure.
  3. Remove Old Cartridge: Twist the old filter cartridge counter-clockwise to unlock and pull it down from the filter head. Be prepared for a small amount of residual water.
  4. Insert New Cartridge: Remove protective caps from the new BWT Magnesium Mineralized Water filter cartridge. Insert it into the filter head and twist clockwise until it locks into place.
  5. Turn on Water Supply: Slowly open the shut-off valve. Check for leaks.
  6. Flush New Filter: Flush the new filter by running filtered water for 5-10 minutes (or as recommended by the monitor) to remove air and carbon fines.
  7. Reset AQA Monitor: Press the "RESET" button on the BWT AQA Monitor to reset the filter capacity counter.

6.2. Cleaning the Tap

Clean the exterior of the tap with a soft cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish.

7. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your BWT Aqua Filter system.
