Setup
Follow these steps to assemble your 10ft Solar LED Offset Patio Umbrella:
- Assemble the Cross Base: Place the cross base on a flat, stable surface. Secure the four ground stakes through the designated holes in the cross base for added stability.
- Add Base Weights (Sold Separately): It is crucial to add sufficient weight to the cross base. We recommend using 4-piece offset umbrella base weights (100lbs or more) filled with sand or water. These are compatible with the built-in base mount.
- Attach the Main Pole: Insert the main pole assembly into the center of the weighted cross base. Secure it using the provided pole knob or fasteners.
- Mount the Umbrella Canopy: Carefully lift the umbrella canopy and attach it to the cantilever arm. Ensure all connections are secure.
- Insert Hand Crank: Insert the hand crank into its designated slot on the main pole.

Operating Instructions
- Opening the Umbrella: Rotate the hand crank clockwise to extend the cantilever arm and open the umbrella canopy. Continue cranking until the canopy is fully open and taut.
- Tilting the Umbrella: Locate the easy-tilt system handle on the main pole. Press the button or lever and adjust the angle of the umbrella canopy to block the sun at various times of the day. Release the button/lever to lock the tilt in place.
- Closing the Umbrella: Rotate the hand crank counter-clockwise to retract the cantilever arm and close the umbrella canopy. Once closed, secure the canopy with the attached strap to prevent it from unfurling.
- Using LED Lights: The umbrella features 24 built-in LED lights powered by a solar panel located on top of the pole. Ensure the solar panel receives direct sunlight during the day for optimal charging. The lights typically turn on automatically at dusk or can be manually activated via a switch (if present, refer to specific model details).

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Clean the polyester canopy with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before closing or storing.
- Frame Care: The powder-coated steel pole is designed to prevent oxidation and scratching. Wipe down the frame with a damp cloth as needed.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, especially during off-season or severe weather, close the umbrella, secure it with the strap, and store it in a dry, protected area. An umbrella cover (sold separately) is recommended.
- Solar Panel: Keep the solar panel clean and free of debris to ensure efficient charging of the LED lights.
Troubleshooting
- LED Lights Not Working:
- Ensure the solar panel is clean and exposed to direct sunlight for at least 6-8 hours.
- Check if the manual switch for the LED lights (if applicable) is in the 'ON' position.
- Verify that the battery in the solar unit is properly connected and charged.
- Umbrella Instability:
- Confirm that the base is adequately weighted (100lbs or more recommended).
- Ensure all fasteners securing the pole to the base are tightened.
- Avoid using the umbrella in high winds.
- Crank Mechanism Difficulty:
- Check for any obstructions in the cranking mechanism or along the umbrella ribs.
- Apply a silicone-based lubricant to moving parts if the mechanism feels stiff.
