Product Overview and Components

The Polder Chill Station is an innovative ice bucket and bottle cooling sleeve system. It features a double-wall insulated design to minimize condensation and maintain temperature. Key components include:

  • Main Unit: The primary insulated bucket.
  • Cooling Sleeve: A stainless steel insert designed to hold standard 750 ml bottles (wine, champagne, spirits).
  • Silicone Wiping Ring: Integrated into the cooling sleeve to remove moisture from bottles upon removal.
  • Ice Scoop: A plastic scoop for convenient ice handling.
  • Covers: Two see-through covers, one for the ice area and one for the bottle sleeve.
  • Carrying Handle: For easy transport of the unit.

Setup

  1. Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Inspect for any damage.
  2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wash all components (main unit, cooling sleeve, scoop, covers) with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely.
  3. Assemble Cooling Sleeve: Ensure the stainless steel cooling sleeve is properly seated within its designated compartment in the main unit. The integrated silicone wiping ring should be visible at the top opening of the sleeve.

Operating Instructions

  1. Add Ice: Fill the larger compartment of the Chill Station with ice cubes. The unit has a generous capacity of approximately 3.3 quarts (3.1 liters) of ice.
  2. Insert Bottle: Place your standard 750 ml wine, champagne, or spirits bottle into the stainless steel cooling sleeve. The sleeve is designed to keep the bottle chilled without direct contact with the main ice supply, preventing water rings and dilution.
  3. Use Covers: Place the appropriate clear covers over the ice compartment and the bottle sleeve opening to help maintain temperature and prevent ice melt.
  4. Serve: Use the included plastic scoop to retrieve ice as needed. When removing a bottle, the integrated silicone wiping ring will help remove excess moisture, keeping your hands dry.

Maintenance and Care

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Polder Chill Station, follow these care instructions:

  • Cleaning: After each use, empty any remaining ice and liquid. Wash all components (main unit, cooling sleeve, scoop, covers) by hand with warm water and a mild dish soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads that could scratch the surfaces.
  • Rinsing: Rinse all parts thoroughly to remove any soap residue.
  • Drying: Dry all components completely before storing to prevent water spots or mildew. Air drying is recommended, or use a soft cloth.
  • Storage: Store the Chill Station in a clean, dry place when not in use. Ensure all parts are dry to prevent odors or damage.
  • Condensation: The double-wall construction is designed to deter exterior condensation. If condensation occurs in extreme humidity, simply wipe the exterior with a soft cloth.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Ice melts too quickly.
  • Covers not used or not sealed properly.
  • Unit exposed to direct sunlight or high ambient temperatures.
  • Insufficient amount of ice.
  • Ensure both clear covers are securely placed on the ice and bottle compartments.
  • Position the Chill Station in a cooler, shaded area.
  • Fill the ice compartment to its recommended capacity.
Bottle not staying cold enough.
  • Bottle was not pre-chilled.
  • Insufficient ice in the main compartment.

  • For best results, pre-chill bottles in a refrigerator before placing them in the Chill Station.
  • Ensure the ice compartment is adequately filled.
  • Verify the cooling sleeve is correctly inserted and stable.
Exterior condensation.
  • Extreme humidity or temperature difference.
  • While the double-wall design minimizes condensation, in very humid conditions, a small amount may occur. This is normal. Simply wipe with a soft cloth.
