Mineral deposits (limescale) can build up inside the kettle, especially in hard water areas. Descaling regularly will maintain efficiency and extend the kettle's life.
- Fill the kettle with a mixture of one part white vinegar and two parts water.
- Boil the mixture and let it stand for at least 30 minutes, or longer for heavy scale.
- Discard the mixture and rinse the kettle thoroughly with fresh water several times.
- For stubborn deposits, a commercial descaling solution designed for kettles can be used following the product's instructions.
- After descaling, boil fresh water in the kettle and discard it two to three times to remove any residual descaling agent.
