Setup

1. Connect and Power On the Receiver

  1. Connect the power supply to the BLX4 receiver and plug it into an AC outlet.
  2. Connect the receiver's output to your mixer or amplifier using an XLR or 1/4" instrument cable.
  3. Press the power button on the receiver to turn it on.

2. Install Batteries and Connect Transmitter

  1. Open the battery compartment on the BLX1 bodypack transmitter and insert the two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
  2. Connect the WA302 1/4" instrument cable to your guitar or bass and then to the BLX1 bodypack transmitter.
  3. Turn on the BLX1 bodypack transmitter.

Operation

1. Choose the Best Channel

To ensure optimal performance and avoid interference, it is crucial to select the best available frequency channel.

  1. With the receiver powered on and transmitters off, press the 'Group' button on the BLX4 receiver to initiate a scan for the best group and channel.
  2. Once the scan is complete, the receiver will display the optimal group and channel.
  3. Turn on your BLX1 bodypack transmitter.
  4. Adjust the group and channel on the transmitter to match the settings displayed on the receiver.

2. Perform a Soundcheck

Before any performance, conduct a soundcheck to verify audio levels and signal integrity.

  1. Ensure both the receiver and transmitter are powered on and linked.
  2. Play your instrument at typical performance levels.
  3. Monitor the audio and ready indicators on the receiver. The audio indicator should light up, and the ready indicator should be solid green.
  4. Adjust the gain on your mixer or amplifier as needed to achieve desired sound levels without clipping.

3. Adding a Receiver (for multi-system setups)

If expanding your setup with additional BLX wireless systems, follow these steps to add another receiver.

  1. Power off all transmitters.
  2. Power on the new receiver and any existing receivers.
  3. On the new receiver, press the 'Group' button to scan for an available group and channel.
  4. Once a new group and channel are selected, power on the corresponding transmitter and set it to match the new receiver's settings.
