2. Powering On the Units

Operating Instructions
1. Two-Way Communication (Full Duplex)

- The receiving unit will ring. The recipient presses the CALL button to answer.
- Once connected, you can converse freely without holding down any buttons.
- To end the call, press the CALL button again.

2. Group Call / Broadcast Function
The 'GROUP' or 'BROADCAST' function allows you to communicate with all connected units simultaneously.
- Press the GROUP or BROADCAST button.
- Your message will be transmitted to all other units in the system.
3. Monitor Function
The 'MONITOR' function allows one unit to listen to the audio from another unit without the need for the monitored unit to actively participate in the conversation. This can be useful for baby monitoring or checking on elderly family members.
- On the unit you wish to monitor (e.g., in a child's room), press the MONITOR button.
- From another unit, you will be able to hear sounds from the monitored unit.
- To deactivate monitoring, press the MONITOR button again on the monitored unit.

Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Hosmart intercom system, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down the units. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the surface.
- Battery Care: If using 18650 lithium batteries, ensure they are charged regularly. If storing the units for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage and damage.
- Storage: Store the intercom units in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity.
- Avoid Obstructions: For best performance, ensure the units are placed in areas with minimal physical obstructions to maintain clear signal transmission.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power/Unit not turning on | Low battery or power connection issue. | Ensure USB cable is securely connected and power adapter is plugged into a working outlet. Check battery charge if using portable. |
| Units not connecting/pairing | Out of range, interference, or pairing issue. | Move units closer together. Re-initiate the pairing process as described in the Setup section. Avoid placing near other electronic devices. |
| Poor sound quality/Static | Interference, weak signal, or obstructions. | Relocate units to minimize interference from other electronics or physical barriers (e.g., thick walls, metal structures). Ensure units are within optimal range. |
| Limited range | Environmental factors, obstructions. | While the system boasts a 1000ft range, actual performance can vary based on walls, floors, and other interference. Test in different locations to find optimal placement. |
| Units stopped communicating after a period | Potential connection drop or internal issue. | Try power cycling both units (turn off, then on again). Re-pair the units if necessary. If the issue persists, contact support. |
