1. Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of your Vaillant electronicVED plus 21/8 electronic water heater. 2. Safety Information
Important Safety Instructions:
- Installation of non-plug-in appliances must be performed by a registered specialized contractor or the respective network operator. They can also assist in obtaining approval from the power supply operator for the appliance's installation.
- The appliance must be mounted vertically and within the appropriate protection zone according to DIN 57100/VDE 100 (e.g., > 60 cm distance from shower, bathtub, sockets, or washbasins).
- Ensure the electrical supply meets the technical requirements specified for the 21 kW model (400 V/50 Hz, 5-wire connection cable with 6 mm² cross-section, three-phase, minimum 32 Ampere protection).
- The electronicVED plus features adjustable anti-scald protection and child safety functions. Ensure these are configured correctly during setup.
- Before first use, the appliance must be purged of air. Open the tap and let water flow until no more air escapes, then make the electrical connection.
- Failure to comply with the warning and installation instructions may damage the product and void the warranty.

4. Installation
4.1 Scope of Delivery
The package includes:
- electronicVED plus water heater
- Cold water connection (R 1/2")
- Hot water connection (R 1/2")
- Seals
- Mounting plate
- Central screw
- Mounting template
- Operating and installation instructions
Note: Screws and dowels are not included as they must be selected based on the specific mounting situation.
4.2 Mounting Location
The appliance is designed for wall mounting. It must be installed vertically in an appropriate protection zone according to DIN 57100/VDE 100. Maintain a distance of at least 60 cm from showers, bathtubs, sockets, or washbasins.

For under-sink installation, additional accessories may be required (Vaillant item numbers: 000479, 0020138088, 308086).
4.3 Water Connections
The water heater is designed for pressure-resistant water taps (both two-handle and mixer taps). It features identical connections (water fittings and mounting plate) across various Vaillant models, simplifying replacement.

4.4 Electrical Connection
The 21 kW model requires a 400 V/50 Hz power supply with a 5-wire connection cable (6 mm² cross-section) and three-phase protection of at least 32 Amperes. Consult a qualified electrician for proper installation and to ensure compliance with local regulations.
5. Operation
5.1 Commissioning
Before initial operation, the appliance must be purged of air. Follow these steps:
- Open the hot water tap connected to the water heater.
- Allow water to flow through the appliance until no more air escapes and the water stream is steady.
- Only after purging, connect the electrical power to the appliance.
5.2 Temperature Setting
The electronicVED plus features a graphic display and an intuitive operating menu for precise temperature control. The outlet temperature can be set continuously from 20 °C to 55 °C.

Use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the desired water temperature. The integrated energy monitor displays consumption data, helping you manage energy usage.
5.3 Safety Features
The appliance includes child safety and adjustable anti-scald protection. Refer to the detailed operating instructions provided with the product for information on how to activate and configure these features.
6. Maintenance
The Vaillant electronicVED plus is designed for easy maintenance with easily replaceable components. Regular inspection by a qualified technician is recommended to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Periodically check for any leaks around the water connections.
- Keep the exterior of the appliance clean using a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
- Do not attempt to open or repair the appliance yourself. Contact a qualified service professional for any repairs.
7. Troubleshooting
If you experience issues with your water heater, consider the following general troubleshooting steps:
- No hot water: Check the electrical supply and ensure the circuit breaker has not tripped. Verify that the water supply is open.
- Insufficient hot water: Ensure the temperature setting is appropriate. Check if the water flow rate is too high for the appliance's capacity.
- Error message on display: Consult the detailed operating instructions for specific error codes and their remedies.

8. Warranty and Support
