5. Setup and Installation

The CLOUDY BAY recessed light is designed for easy installation in various ceiling types. No traditional recessed cans are required.

5.1 Pre-Installation

  1. Turn off power at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
  2. Determine the desired location for each light fixture. Ensure there is sufficient clearance above the ceiling for the junction box and fixture.
  3. Use the provided cutting template to mark the ceiling for the hole. The recommended cut hole size is 6-1/4 inches.

5.2 Wiring the Junction Box

  1. Open the junction box cover.
  2. Remove the appropriate knockout(s) for your electrical wiring.
  3. Connect the electrical wires from the ceiling to the wires in the junction box using the provided wire connectors:
    • Connect the black (live) wire from the ceiling to the black wire in the junction box.
    • Connect the white (neutral) wire from the ceiling to the white wire in the junction box.
    • Connect the green or bare copper (ground) wire from the ceiling to the green wire in the junction box.
  4. Ensure all connections are secure. Close the junction box cover.

5.3 Installing the Light Fixture

  1. Connect the cable from the light fixture to the junction box. Ensure the connection is firm.
  2. Before inserting the fixture, select your desired color temperature (3000K, 4000K, or 5000K) using the CCT toggle switch located on the side of the junction box. (Refer to Section 6.1 for details).
  3. Gently push the spring clips on the sides of the light fixture upwards.
  4. Insert the light fixture into the ceiling hole. The spring clips will automatically secure the fixture in place.
  5. Ensure the fixture is flush with the ceiling surface.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Color Temperature Selection (CCT)

Your CLOUDY BAY recessed light offers three selectable color temperatures: 3000K (Warm White), 4000K (Cool White), and 5000K (Day Light). To change the color temperature, locate the toggle switch on the side of the junction box. Adjust the switch to your desired setting before installing the fixture into the ceiling.

6.2 Dimming Functionality

The CLOUDY BAY recessed light is dimmable from 10% to 100% brightness. It is compatible with most LED dimmers. For optimal performance, especially if you require a wide dimming range, an ELV (Electronic Low Voltage) dimmer is highly recommended.

6.3 Compatible Dimmer List

For best dimming performance, refer to the following list of tested compatible dimmers. While the fixture works with most LED dimmers, using one from this list can ensure optimal results.

Note: If using Lutron-Caseta PD-6WCL-XX, consult Lutron or purchase a Lutron-LUT-MLC dimmer. This dimmer list is based on tests with a 6-pack of lights.

7. Maintenance

The CLOUDY BAY LED Recessed Light is designed for long-lasting, maintenance-free operation. The integrated LED chips are not replaceable.

  • Cleaning: Ensure power is off before cleaning. Wipe the fixture with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as they may damage the finish or electrical components.
  • No Bulb Replacement: This fixture uses integrated LED technology, meaning there are no bulbs to replace.
