6. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and security of your WAVLINK AC3200 router, consider the following maintenance practices:

  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check the WAVLINK official website for firmware updates. Keeping your router's firmware up-to-date can improve performance, add new features, and enhance security.
  • Regular Reboot: Periodically rebooting your router (unplugging it from power for 10-15 seconds and plugging it back in) can help clear its memory and resolve minor network issues, improving stability.
  • Physical Cleaning: Keep the router in a well-ventilated area and periodically clean dust from its vents to prevent overheating.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your router, try the following solutions:

  • No Internet Connection:
    • Check all cable connections, especially the Ethernet cable between the router's WAN port and your modem.
    • Reboot both your modem and router. Unplug them from power, wait 30 seconds, then plug the modem back in. Once the modem is fully online, plug the router back in.
    • Verify your internet service provider (ISP) connection is active.
  • Wi-Fi Disconnections or Slow Speeds:
    • Ensure your router is placed centrally and away from obstructions or interference sources (e.g., microwaves, cordless phones).
    • Check the LCD screen for current data speeds and connected devices.
    • Try connecting to the 5GHz band for faster speeds if your device supports it and is within range.
    • Reduce the number of active devices or bandwidth-intensive activities.
  • Router Freezing/Unresponsive:
    • Perform a soft reboot by pressing the power button off and then on.
    • If the issue persists, perform a factory reset using the pin-hole reset button on the back of the router. (Note: A factory reset will erase all custom settings, and you will need to reconfigure your router.)
  • Cannot Access Router Settings:
    • Ensure your device is connected to the router's network (either Wi-Fi or Ethernet).
    • Verify the login URL (e.g., wifi.wavlink.com) and your login credentials.
