2. Safety Information

  • Outdoor Use Only: This appliance is strictly for outdoor use in a well-ventilated area. Never operate it indoors or in enclosed spaces.

5. Operating Instructions

  1. Ignition: Turn the control dial on the back of the oven counter-clockwise until you hear a click and the burner ignites. The oven features instant gas ignition.
  2. Preheating: Allow the oven to preheat for approximately 20 minutes. The oven will reach its optimal cooking temperature of up to 950°F (500°C) during this time.
  3. Cooking Pizza: Once preheated, launch your pizza into the oven using a pizza peel. Pizzas typically cook in as little as 60 seconds. Rotate the pizza frequently (every 20-30 seconds) to ensure even cooking and prevent burning.
  4. Versatile Cooking: The Ooni Koda 16 is also suitable for cooking other dishes. Use Ooni cast iron accessories to roast meats, fish, or vegetables. The high heat provides excellent searing capabilities.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Pizza Stone: Allow the stone to cool completely before attempting to clean it. Scrape off any burnt food residue with a stiff brush or scraper. Do not use soap or water on the stone, as it is porous and will absorb liquids, which can affect performance. The high heat of the oven will naturally clean the stone over time by burning off most residues.
  • Cleaning the Exterior: Wipe down the powder-coated carbon steel shell with a damp cloth once the oven has cooled. Avoid abrasive cleaners that could damage the finish.
  • Storage: For prolonged periods of non-use or to protect from elements, store the oven in a dry, covered area. Consider purchasing an Ooni Koda 16 cover to protect it from dirt and weather.
