Setup and Installation

  1. Mounting: Select a suitable location for mounting the transformer. It should be mounted vertically on a wall or post, at least 1 foot above the ground, using appropriate screws (not included). Ensure the location is accessible and protected from direct water spray if possible, even though it is weatherproof.
  2. Wiring Connection:
    • Ensure the transformer is unplugged from the power outlet.
    • Open the terminal cover.
    • Connect the low voltage landscape lighting wires to the terminal block inside the transformer. Ensure a secure connection for each wire. The transformer provides 12VAC output.

The transformer features a photocell sensor and a timer dial for controlling your landscape lighting.

  • Timer Dial Settings:
    • ON: Lights will remain on continuously.
    • OFF: Lights will remain off.
    • AUTO: Lights will turn on at dusk and turn off at dawn, controlled by the photocell sensor.
    • 4H (4 Hours): Lights will turn on at dusk and automatically turn off after 4 hours.
    • 6H (6 Hours): Lights will turn on at dusk and automatically turn off after 6 hours.
    • 8H (8 Hours): Lights will turn on at dusk and automatically turn off after 8 hours.
  • Photocell Sensor: The photocell detects ambient light levels. For optimal performance, ensure the photocell is not obstructed by objects or direct artificial light sources at night.
  • Indoor Use: When used indoors or in dark locations, the plug-in timer can be used to override the photocell for continuous ON/OFF control.

Maintenance

  • Periodically inspect the transformer and wiring for any signs of damage, wear, or loose connections.
  • Keep the photocell sensor clean and free from dirt or debris to ensure accurate dusk-to-dawn operation.
  • Clean the exterior of the transformer with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Ensure the total wattage of connected fixtures does not exceed the transformer's maximum capacity of 150 watts.

Troubleshooting
