Setup Guide
1. Unpacking and Placement
Carefully remove the espresso machine from its packaging. Place the machine on a stable, level surface near a power outlet and a water source. Ensure adequate ventilation around the machine.
2. Initial Cleaning
Before first use, wipe down the exterior with a damp cloth. Remove and wash the water reservoir, drip tray, and portafilter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
3. Filling the Water Reservoir
Remove the water reservoir from the back of the machine. Fill it with fresh, cold, filtered water up to the MAX line. Avoid using distilled water as it can affect sensor readings. Place the reservoir back into the machine securely.
4. Priming the Pump
Plug the machine into a grounded power outlet. Turn on the main power switch. Open the steam knob fully. Activate the brew switch until water flows consistently from the steam wand. Close the steam knob. This primes the pump and fills the boiler.

Operating Instructions
1. Preparing the Portafilter
Ensure the machine is heated to operating temperature (indicator light on). Grind fresh coffee beans to an espresso-fine consistency. For the 17g double shot basket, use approximately 16-18 grams of coffee. Distribute the coffee evenly in the portafilter basket. Use the provided tamper to apply firm, even pressure to the coffee grounds. Wipe any excess grounds from the rim of the portafilter.
2. Brewing Espresso
Insert the prepared portafilter into the group head and twist firmly to secure it. Place your espresso cup(s) on the drip tray beneath the portafilter spouts. Press the brew button to start the extraction. Monitor the flow and color of the espresso. Press the brew button again to stop the extraction when the desired volume is reached (typically 25-30 seconds for a double shot).

3. Steaming Milk
Turn on the steam switch and wait for the steam indicator light to illuminate, indicating the boiler has reached steaming temperature. Purge any condensation from the steam wand by opening the steam knob briefly. Submerge the tip of the steam wand just below the surface of cold milk in a stainless steel pitcher. Open the steam knob fully. As the milk expands, lower the pitcher slightly to keep the tip near the surface, creating a swirling motion. Once the milk reaches the desired temperature and texture, close the steam knob and immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to prevent milk residue from drying.

Maintenance
Daily Cleaning
- Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray daily.
- Portafilter and Baskets: After each use, remove the portafilter, discard the coffee puck, and rinse the portafilter and basket under hot water.
- Group Head: After removing the portafilter, run a small amount of water through the group head to rinse away loose coffee grounds.
- Steam Wand: Immediately after steaming milk, wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth. Purge a small amount of steam to clear any internal milk residue.
Weekly Cleaning (Backflushing)
Backflushing helps clean the group head and three-way solenoid valve. Insert the blind filter basket (included) into the portafilter. Add a small amount of espresso machine detergent (e.g., Cafiza) to the blind filter. Lock the portafilter into the group head. Activate the brew switch for 10 seconds, then turn it off for 5 seconds. Repeat this cycle 5-10 times. Remove the portafilter, rinse it, and repeat the backflushing process with plain water to rinse away detergent residue.
Monthly/Bi-Monthly Cleaning (Descaling)
Descaling removes mineral buildup from the boiler and internal components. Use a descaling solution specifically designed for espresso machines. Follow the instructions provided with your descaling product. Typically, this involves dissolving the descaler in water, filling the reservoir, and running the solution through the machine's brew group and steam wand, followed by thorough rinsing with fresh water.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No water flow from group head. | Empty water reservoir, pump not primed, clogged group head. | Refill reservoir, prime pump (see Setup), perform backflush. |
| Weak or no steam. | Steam wand clogged, boiler not hot enough. | Clean steam wand hole with a pin, wait for steam light to illuminate. |
| Espresso extracts too fast (under-extraction). | Coffee ground too coarse, insufficient coffee dose, tamping too light. | Grind finer, increase coffee dose, tamp more firmly. |
| Espresso extracts too slow or not at all (over-extraction). | Coffee ground too fine, excessive coffee dose, tamping too hard. | Grind coarser, decrease coffee dose, tamp lighter. |
