4. Setup and Installation

The Gree Shiny Portable Air Conditioner is designed for quick and easy installation. Follow these steps to set up your unit.

4.1 Window Kit Installation

The included window kit fits windows 20.5 to 56.7 inches wide.

1. Assemble the window slider kit according to your window's dimensions.
2. Connect the 40-inch exhaust hose to the unit's exhaust port.
3. Attach the other end of the exhaust hose to the window slider kit.
4. Open the window and place the assembled window kit securely in the window opening.
5. Close the window firmly against the kit to seal the opening.
6. Ensure the exhaust hose is not kinked or blocked to allow proper airflow.

4.2 Unit Placement

Place the unit on a flat, stable surface, ensuring there is at least 20 inches of clear space around the air inlets and outlets for optimal performance.

5. Operating Instructions

Your Gree Shiny Portable Air Conditioner can be operated using the control panel on the unit or the included remote control.

5.1 Control Panel and Remote Control

The digital LED panel provides clear indicators for current settings. The remote control offers full functionality from a distance.

5.2 Operating Modes

• Cool Mode: For cooling the room. Set desired temperature and fan speed.
• Dehumidify Mode: Removes excess moisture from the air. The unit can remove up to 90 pints per day.
• Fan Mode: Circulates air without cooling. Select desired fan speed (Low, Med, High, Auto).

5.3 Timer Function

The 24-hour timer allows you to program the unit to turn on or off automatically.

5.4 Sleep Mode

Activate Sleep Mode for quieter operation (minimum 48dB noise level) and optimized temperature settings for comfortable sleep.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your portable air conditioner.

6.1 Air Filter Cleaning

• Turn off and unplug the unit before cleaning.
• Remove the air filter from the back of the unit.
• Clean the filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow to air dry completely before reinserting.
• Clean the air filter every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.

6.2 Water Drainage

The unit features a self-evaporative system, which significantly reduces the need for manual drainage. However, in high humidity conditions, the water tank may still accumulate water.

• When the water tank is full, the unit will stop operating and an indicator light will illuminate.
• Place a shallow pan or tray under the drainage port.
• Remove the drain plug to allow water to flow out.
• Replace the drain plug once the tank is empty.

6.3 Unit Cleaning

• Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, damp cloth.
• Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasives, or solvents.
