3. Setup and Adjustment
Proper helmet fit is crucial for safety. Follow these steps to ensure your helmet is correctly adjusted.
3.1 Initial Fit
- Position the Helmet: Place the helmet squarely on your head, ensuring it covers your forehead. It should not be tilted back, exposing your forehead, or pushed too far forward, obstructing your vision.
- Adjust the Size Dial: Locate the size adjustment dial at the back of the helmet (see Figure 2). Turn the dial clockwise to tighten the fit or counter-clockwise to loosen it. Adjust until the helmet feels snug and secure without being uncomfortably tight. The helmet should not move significantly when you shake your head.

3.2 Strap Adjustment
- Adjust Y-Straps: The Y-straps should meet just below your ears. Slide the adjusters on the straps to achieve this position. Ensure the straps lie flat against your skin and are not twisted.
- Secure the Buckle: Fasten the safety buckle under your chin. Tighten the chin strap until it is snug. You should be able to fit one or two fingers comfortably between the strap and your chin, but no more.

Important: Always check the fit before each ride. A helmet that is too loose or improperly adjusted may not provide adequate protection in the event of an impact.
4. Maintenance
Regular maintenance will prolong the life of your helmet and ensure its effectiveness.
4.1 Cleaning
- Outer Shell: Clean the helmet's outer shell with a soft cloth, mild soap, and water. Avoid harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the helmet's materials.
- Inner Pads: The inner pads are washable. Remove them carefully, hand wash with mild soap and water, rinse thoroughly, and allow them to air dry completely before reinserting.
- Straps: Clean straps with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not immerse the helmet in water.
4.2 Storage
Store your helmet in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Avoid storing it near heat sources or in areas where it could be exposed to chemicals or fumes.
4.3 Inspection
Regularly inspect your helmet for any signs of damage, such as cracks in the shell, dents, frayed straps, or damaged buckles. If any damage is found, the helmet should be replaced immediately, as its protective capabilities may be compromised.
5. Troubleshooting
- Helmet feels loose: Tighten the size adjustment dial (Section 3.1) and ensure the chin strap is snug (Section 3.2).
- Helmet is uncomfortable: Check if the inner pads are correctly positioned. Re-adjust the size dial and Y-straps to relieve pressure points.
- Straps are twisted: Unfasten the buckle and untwist the straps, ensuring they lie flat against your face and neck.
- Helmet does not stay level: Ensure the helmet is positioned squarely on your head and the Y-straps are adjusted evenly below your ears.
