5. Operating Instructions
5.1 First Use and Mapping
Before the first cleaning, ensure the robot is fully charged. It is recommended to allow the robot to complete a full cleaning cycle to create an accurate map of your home. This map is crucial for advanced features like zone cleaning and virtual walls.
- Start Cleaning: Press the power button on the robot or use the Mi Home app to start a cleaning cycle. The robot will begin mapping and cleaning your home.
- Mapping: During the first few runs, the robot will build a detailed map. Ensure doors to all areas you want cleaned are open. Avoid interrupting the robot during its initial mapping process.
- Room Partitioning: Once the map is complete, use the Mi Home app to partition rooms, merge or split areas, and name them for customized cleaning.
5.2 Cleaning Modes
- Sweeping and Mopping: The default mode. The robot will vacuum and mop simultaneously. Ensure the water tank is installed.
- Sweeping Only: The robot will only vacuum. Remove the water tank for this mode.
- Mopping Only: The robot will only mop. Ensure the water tank is installed and the dustbin is empty.
5.3 App Control Features
The Mi Home app provides extensive control over your robot vacuum:
- Scheduled Cleaning: Set specific times for the robot to clean automatically.
- Zone Cleaning: Define specific areas on the map for the robot to clean.
- Fixed Cleaning: Send the robot to a specific spot on the map to clean a small area.
- Virtual Walls/Forbidden Areas: Draw virtual lines or boxes on the map to prevent the robot from entering certain areas.
- Suction Power Adjustment: Adjust the vacuum's suction power (e.g., Silent, Standard, Strong, Turbo).
- Water Flow Adjustment: Control the water output for mopping.
- Real-time Monitoring: View the robot's cleaning progress and current location on the map.
- Voice Control: Integrate with Xiaoai voice assistant for hands-free control.
5.4 Automatic Recharge
When the battery is low, the robot will automatically return to its charging stand. After recharging, it will resume cleaning from where it left off (if the cleaning cycle was not completed).
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your robot vacuum.
6.1 Dustbin and Filter
- Empty Dustbin: Empty the dustbin after each cleaning cycle or when full. Press the release button to remove the dustbin, open it, and discard debris.
- Clean Filter: Tap the filter to remove loose dirt. For a deeper clean, rinse the filter under running water. Ensure the filter is completely dry before reinserting it into the dustbin (allow 24 hours to air dry). Replace the filter every 3-6 months, depending on usage.
6.2 Main Brush and Side Brushes
- Clean Main Brush: Remove the main brush cover and lift out the brush. Use the cleaning tool (if provided) to remove hair and debris tangled around the brush. Reinstall the brush and cover. Clean weekly.
- Clean Side Brushes: Remove the side brushes by pulling them up. Remove any tangled hair or debris. If brushes are worn or damaged, replace them. Clean monthly.
6.3 Water Tank and Mop Pad
- Empty Water Tank: After each mopping session, empty any remaining water from the tank to prevent mold or odors.
- Clean Mop Pad: Remove the mop pad from the bracket. Hand wash or machine wash the mop pad with mild detergent. Air dry completely before reattaching. Clean after each mopping session.
6.4 Sensors and Charging Contacts
- Wipe Sensors: Use a clean, dry cloth to gently wipe all sensors (cliff sensors, wall sensors, LDS sensor window) on the robot to ensure proper navigation. Clean monthly.
- Clean Charging Contacts: Wipe the charging contacts on both the robot and the charging stand with a dry cloth to ensure a good connection. Clean monthly.
