4. Product Overview
The VTech BM1211 consists of two main units: the Baby Unit, placed in your baby's room, and the Parent Unit, which you carry with you.
4.1. Baby Unit
The Baby Unit features a microphone to pick up sounds, a night light, and a temperature sensor. It operates only when connected to AC power.

5. Setup
5.1. Connect and Charge the Parent Unit
- Insert the rechargeable battery into the Parent Unit.
- Connect the small end of the Parent Unit power adapter to the power jack on the side of the Parent Unit.
- Plug the large end of the power adapter into a wall outlet. The battery icon on the display will indicate charging.
- Charge the Parent Unit for at least 12 hours before first use to ensure optimal battery performance.
5.2. Position the Baby Unit
- Place the Baby Unit in your baby's room, at least 1 meter (3 feet) away from the crib or playpen.
- Ensure the Baby Unit is on a flat surface or securely mounted.
- Connect the small end of the Baby Unit power adapter to the power jack on the back of the Baby Unit.
- Plug the large end of the power adapter into a wall outlet. The Baby Unit will power on automatically.
5.3. Power On and Link
Once both units are connected to power, the Parent Unit will automatically search for and link to the Baby Unit. A successful link will be indicated on the Parent Unit's display.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Monitoring Your Baby
After successful setup, the Parent Unit will automatically receive audio from the Baby Unit. The 5-level audio indicator on the Parent Unit will light up to show the intensity of sound detected in your baby's room.
6.2. Adjusting Volume
Press the VOL + or VOL - buttons on the Parent Unit to increase or decrease the listening volume.
6.3. Two-Way Talk
To speak to your baby, press and hold the TALK button on the Parent Unit. The 'TALK' indicator will appear on the display. Release the button to listen to your baby again.
6.4. Activating the Night Light
The Baby Unit features a soft night light. You can activate or deactivate it remotely from the Parent Unit by navigating through the menu, or directly on the Baby Unit using its dedicated button.

6.5. Playing Lullabies
The Baby Unit can play soothing lullabies. Access the lullaby menu on the Parent Unit to select and play one of the 5 available melodies. You can also stop playback from the Parent Unit.
