3. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any damage that may have occurred during transit.
  2. Placement: Place the weighted base on a stable, level, and vibration-free surface. Ensure adequate space for operation and adjustment.
  3. Attach Microscope Head: Securely attach the binocular microscope head to the gooseneck arm. Ensure it is firmly seated.
  4. Power Connection: Connect the power adapter to the microscope's power input and then to a suitable electrical outlet (240 Volt compatible). This powers the integrated LED illuminator.
  5. Initial Adjustments:
    • Adjust the gooseneck arm to position the microscope head over your working area. The arm offers 7.5 inches of articulation and 360° rotation for optimal positioning.
    • Ensure the optical glass shield is in place to protect the objective lens.

4. Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Turn on the integrated LED illuminator.
  2. Place Specimen: Position the object you wish to observe directly under the objective lens.
  3. Adjust Interpupillary Distance: Look through the eyepieces and adjust the distance between them until you see a single, clear circular field of view. This ensures comfortable viewing and proper stereo effect.
  4. Focusing: Use the focusing mechanism or adjust the working distance by moving the gooseneck arm to bring the specimen into sharp focus. The microscope provides 8x magnification.
  5. Gooseneck Adjustment: Utilize the flexible 11.5-inch gooseneck arm to fine-tune the viewing angle and height, allowing you to inspect specimens from various perspectives.
  6. Optical Shield: Keep the optical glass shield in place during operation, especially when performing tasks like soldering, to protect the optics from debris and sparks.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning Optics: Use a soft, lint-free cloth and a specialized lens cleaning solution to clean the eyepieces and objective lens. Avoid touching optical surfaces with bare hands.
  • Cleaning Body: Wipe the microscope body with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Storage: When not in use, cover the microscope with a dust cover to protect it from dust and environmental contaminants. Store in a dry, cool place.
  • Regular Inspection: Periodically check all screws and connections to ensure they are secure.

6. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Image is blurry or out of focus.Incorrect focus adjustment; improper working distance.Adjust the focusing mechanism or reposition the gooseneck arm to achieve the correct working distance (95 mm).
No illumination.Power not connected; LED failure.Check power connection and outlet. Ensure the LED illuminator is switched on. If the issue persists, contact support.
Only one eyepiece shows an image.Interpupillary distance not set correctly.Adjust the interpupillary distance until both eyes see a single, merged image.
Microscope is unstable.Uneven surface; gooseneck extended too far.Ensure the base is on a flat, stable surface. Adjust the gooseneck arm to a more balanced position.
