1. Introduction

The DIGITNOW Digital Film and Slide Scanner is designed to convert your cherished analog memories into high-resolution digital JPEG files. This versatile device supports various film and slide formats, including 35mm, 110 Film, 126KPK, Super 8 negatives, 8mm film negatives, and 135/126/110 slides. Featuring a large 4.3-inch TFT LCD display, it allows for instant previewing, editing, and easy operation without the need for a computer. Images can be saved directly to an SD memory card (up to 128GB, not included) or transferred via USB to a PC or Mac.

3. Product Overview

3.1 Front Panel and Display

The scanner features a large 4.3-inch TFT LCD display for easy viewing and operation. Control buttons are located above the display for navigation, selection, and image capture.

3.2 Film Insertion Slot

The side of the scanner unit contains a slot for inserting the various film and slide holders. An arrow indicator guides the correct insertion direction.

3.3 Rear Ports

The rear of the scanner provides connectivity options:

4. Setup

4.1 Power Connection

  1. Connect the provided USB cable to the Mini USB port on the scanner.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to the power adapter.
  3. Plug the power adapter into a standard electrical outlet.
  4. Press the Power button on the scanner to turn it on.

4.2 Inserting an SD Card (Optional)

To save scanned images directly to the device, an SD memory card (up to 128GB, not included) is required.

  1. Locate the SD Card slot on the rear of the scanner.
  2. Insert the SD card into the slot with the gold contacts facing down, until it clicks into place.

4.3 Preparing Film/Slides

Select the appropriate film holder for your specific film or slide type. Gently insert your film or slides into the holder, ensuring they are properly aligned within the frame.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Scanning Process

  1. Power on the scanner.
  2. From the main menu, select the correct film type (e.g., 35mm Film, 110 Film, 126 Film, Super 8, 8mm Film, 35mm Slide, 110 Slide, 126 Slide).
  3. Insert the prepared film holder with the film/slide into the side slot of the scanner. Push it manually until the image appears on the LCD screen.
  4. Use the control buttons to navigate and adjust settings such as brightness or color balance if needed.
  5. Press the 'OK' or 'Capture' button to scan and save the image. The image will be saved to the inserted SD card or internal memory.
  6. Manually push the film holder to the next frame and repeat the process for additional images.

5.2 Supported Film Types

6. Connecting to External Devices

6.1 Connecting to a Computer (PC/Mac)

To transfer scanned images to a computer:

  1. Ensure the scanner is powered on.
  2. Connect the USB cable from the scanner's Mini USB port to an available USB port on your computer.
  3. The scanner will appear as a removable storage device on your computer. You can then access and transfer the JPEG files.

6.2 Connecting to a TV/Monitor

To view your scanned images on a larger screen:

  1. Connect an HDMI cable (not included) from the scanner's HDMI output port to the HDMI input on your TV or monitor.
  2. Select the correct HDMI input source on your TV/monitor.
  3. The scanner's display will be mirrored on the connected screen.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning the Film Slot

To ensure optimal scan quality, regularly clean the film insertion slot:

  1. Power off the scanner and disconnect it from the power source.
  2. Use the provided cleaning brush to gently remove any dust or debris from the film insertion slot.
  3. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as these can damage the scanner.

7.2 Cleaning the LCD Screen

Wipe the LCD screen with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or sprays directly on the screen.
