Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Bamboosang X3 Document Scanner. This portable, high-definition document camera is designed to simplify your scanning tasks with advanced features like OCR, automatic correction, and real-time projection. This manual provides essential information for setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance.

Important Note: The Bamboosang X3 Document Scanner software is compatible only with Windows 8 or later operating systems. It is NOT compatible with Apple Mac OS.

1. Setup

1.1 Package Contents

  • Bamboosang X3 Document Scanner Unit
  • USB Cable
  • Software CD (if included)
  • Scanning Mat

1.2 Software Installation

  1. Ensure your computer runs Windows 8 or a later version.
  2. If your computer has a CD-ROM drive, insert the provided software CD and follow the on-screen instructions to install the scanner software.
  3. If your computer does not have a CD-ROM drive, please visit the official Bamboosang website to download the latest scanner software.
  4. Follow the installation wizard prompts to complete the software setup.

1.3 Hardware Connection

  1. Place the scanning mat on a flat, stable surface.
  2. Unfold the Bamboosang X3 scanner unit and place it securely on the designated area of the scanning mat.
  3. Connect the scanner to your computer using the provided USB cable. The scanner does not require an external power adapter as it is powered via USB.
  4. Once connected, the computer should automatically detect the device.

2. Operating Instructions

2.1 Basic Scanning

  1. Open the Bamboosang scanner software on your computer.
  2. Place the document you wish to scan on the scanning mat, ensuring it is within the A3 capture area.
  3. The software provides a real-time preview of the document. Adjust the document's position as needed.
  4. Utilize the automatic scanning feature with the built-in timer for continuous shooting. This allows scanning a page in approximately 1.5 seconds, ideal for books or magazines.
  5. Click the 'Scan' button within the software to capture the image.

2.2 LED Illumination

The scanner is equipped with an HD LED light source. This light can be adjusted to 3 different brightness settings, providing auxiliary illumination for scanning in low-light conditions or to enhance image clarity.

2.3 Optical Character Recognition (OCR)

The Bamboosang X3 features advanced OCR technology supporting multiple languages. After scanning, you can convert the captured images into editable document formats such as Word, PDF, or JPG with a single click.

The Bamboosang X3 can function as a real-time projector and video recorder. This feature is useful for presentations, online teaching, meetings, or creating instructional videos.

3. Maintenance

3.1 Cleaning

  • Ensure the scanner is disconnected from the power source (USB cable) before cleaning.
  • Wipe the exterior of the scanner with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth.
  • For stubborn marks, lightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Gently clean the camera lens with a lens cleaning cloth to ensure clear scans.

3.2 Storage

The Bamboosang X3 scanner features a foldable design for easy storage and portability. Fold the unit carefully and store it in a dry, dust-free environment when not in use.

4. Troubleshooting

4.1 Common Issues and Solutions

  • Scanner not detected:
    • Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the scanner and the computer.
    • Try connecting to a different USB port.
    • Restart your computer.
    • Verify that the scanner software is correctly installed.
  • Poor scan quality (blurry, dark, or uneven):
    • Ensure the document is placed flat on the scanning mat and is not creased or bent.
    • Adjust the LED light settings to provide adequate illumination, especially in dark rooms.
    • Avoid direct glare on the document or scanner lens.
    • Clean the camera lens if it appears dirty.
    • Ensure the document is within the focus area of the camera.
  • Software not launching or crashing:
    • Confirm your operating system is Windows 8 or later. The software is not compatible with Mac OS.
    • Reinstall the software from the official website.
    • Ensure your system meets the minimum requirements.
  • Automatic scanning not working:
    • Check the settings within the software for the automatic scanning timer.
    • Ensure the document is placed correctly and consistently for the auto-detection to trigger.
