2. Product Overview
The Techview QC8043 is a robust 1080p trail camera featuring a 2.4-inch LCD screen for easy navigation and playback. It is equipped with no-glow infrared LEDs for discreet night vision, and a 120-degree wide detection PIR sensor for reliable motion activation. Its durable, weatherproof design makes it suitable for various outdoor conditions.

4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Open the camera housing by unlatching the side clips.
- Locate the battery compartment.
- Insert 8 AA batteries (not included) according to the polarity indicators (+/-) inside the compartment. Ensure they are inserted correctly.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
4.2 Memory Card Installation
- Ensure the camera is powered off.
- Locate the SD card slot.
- Insert a standard SD card (up to 32GB, Class 10 recommended) into the slot until it clicks into place.
- It is highly recommended to format the SD card using the camera's menu system before first use and periodically thereafter to ensure optimal performance and prevent data corruption.
4.3 Mounting the Camera
The camera can be mounted using the included strap or the wall mount bracket.
Using the Mounting Strap:
- Thread the mounting strap through the slots on the back of the camera.
- Secure the camera to a tree or pole at the desired height and angle.
Using the Wall Mount Bracket:
- Attach the wall mount bracket to a sturdy surface using the provided screws and wall plugs.
- Secure the camera to the bracket using the threaded insert at the bottom of the camera.
- Adjust the camera angle as needed.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
Locate the power switch inside the camera housing. Slide it to the 'ON' position to power on the camera. Slide it to 'OFF' to power off.
5.2 Mode Selection
The camera has three main operating modes:
- Photo Mode: Captures still images when triggered.
- Video Mode: Records video clips when triggered.
- Photo + Video Mode: Captures a still image followed by a video clip when triggered.
Use the mode switch or menu options to select your desired mode.
5.3 Menu Navigation
Use the control buttons (MENU, OK, UP, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, REPLAY) located next to the LCD screen to navigate the camera's settings menu. Press 'MENU' to enter the settings, use arrow keys to navigate, 'OK' to confirm, and 'MENU' again to exit.
5.4 Key Settings
- Resolution: Set photo and video resolution (e.g., 1080p for video, 12MP for photos).
- PIR Sensitivity: Adjust the sensitivity of the motion sensor (Low, Medium, High) based on environmental conditions to avoid false triggers.
- Trigger Interval: Set the delay between consecutive triggers.
- Video Length: Define the duration of video recordings.
- Time Lapse: Configure the camera to take photos at set intervals regardless of motion.
- Date/Time Stamp: Enable or disable the display of date and time on captured media.
5.5 Playback
In playback mode, you can review captured photos and videos directly on the 2.4-inch LCD screen. Use the arrow keys to navigate through files and the 'OK' button to play videos.
5.6 Connecting to a PC
Use the provided USB cable to connect the camera to your computer. The camera will appear as a removable disk, allowing you to transfer files to your computer.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Gently wipe the camera lens, PIR sensors, and infrared LEDs with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners.
- Battery Care: Remove batteries if the camera will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage and corrosion.
- SD Card: Periodically format the SD card to maintain optimal performance and free up space.
- Storage: Store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
