Introduction
The Olympus Tough TG-6 is a rugged point-and-shoot camera designed for adventurous use. It features a 12MP BSI CMOS sensor and TruePic VIII image processor, offering clear images and strong low-light performance. The camera is built to withstand harsh environments, being waterproof, shockproof, crushproof, and freezeproof, making it an ideal companion for outdoor activities and underwater exploration.

Setup
Unpacking
Verify that all items are present in the box. The standard package includes the Camera Body and essential Accessories such as a battery and USB cable.
Battery Installation and Charging
Insert the provided battery into the battery compartment located on the side of the camera. Ensure it clicks into place. Connect the camera to a power source using the supplied USB cable for charging. The charging indicator will show the charging status.
Memory Card Insertion
The camera requires a compatible SD memory card (not always included) to store photos and videos. Open the memory card slot cover, located next to the battery compartment, and insert the SD card with the label facing the front of the camera until it locks into place. Close the cover securely.
Operating the Camera
Power On/Off
Press the ON/OFF button located on the top of the camera to power it on or off. The LCD screen will illuminate.

Basic Photography
To take a photo, frame your subject using the LCD screen and press the shutter button located on the top of the camera. The camera will automatically focus and capture the image.

Shooting Modes
The TG-6 offers various shooting modes accessible via the mode dial and menu options on the rear LCD screen. Rotate the mode dial to select your desired shooting scenario.
Underwater Modes
The camera features dedicated underwater modes for optimal results in aquatic environments. These include Underwater Snapshot, Wide, Macro, Microscope, and HDR. These modes adjust white balance and other settings to compensate for light conditions underwater.

Macro System
Utilize the Variable Macro System for detailed close-up shots. This includes Microscope mode for extreme magnification, allowing you to capture intricate details not visible to the naked eye.
Pro Capture Mode
For capturing fast-moving subjects, Pro Capture mode records images before and after the shutter is fully pressed, ensuring you don't miss the decisive moment.
Connectivity
The camera features built-in Wi-Fi for easy connection to your smartphone and a Field Sensor System for tracking environmental data.
OI.Share App
Download the Olympus Image Share (OI.Share) app to your smartphone to wirelessly view, download, edit, and share your photos and videos. The app also allows for remote camera control, enabling you to operate the camera from a distance.
Field Sensor System
The integrated Field Sensor System records GPS location, manometer (pressure/depth), compass direction, and thermometer (temperature) data. This data can be embedded into your photos and videos and tracked using the Olympus Image Track (OI.Track) app, providing a comprehensive record of your adventures.
Maintenance
Cleaning
After use, especially in water or dusty environments, clean the camera body with a soft, damp cloth. For saltwater exposure, rinse the camera thoroughly with fresh water. Ensure all ports and covers are securely closed before cleaning or rinsing.
Drying
After water use, thoroughly dry the camera with a soft, lint-free cloth. Pay special attention to the battery/memory card compartment and other sealed areas. Open compartments only after the camera is completely dry to prevent water ingress.
Storage
Store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove the battery if the camera will not be used for an extended period.
Troubleshooting
Camera Not Powering On
- Ensure the battery is fully charged.
- Check if the battery is inserted correctly.
- Verify that the battery compartment cover is securely closed.
Images Not Saving
- Verify that a compatible memory card is inserted.
- Check if the memory card has sufficient free space.
- Ensure the memory card is not write-protected.
Connectivity Issues (Wi-Fi/App)
- Restart both the camera and your smartphone.
- Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on both devices and the camera's Wi-Fi function is active.
- Reinstall the OI.Share or OI.Track app if problems persist.
