4. Setup and Installation

- Insert your functioning key into the cylinder and turn it 90 degrees clockwise.
- Insert the SmartKey tool fully and firmly into the SmartKey hole. Remove the SmartKey tool.

- Insert your new key fully and slowly turn it 180 degrees counter-clockwise.
- Your lock is now re-keyed. Test the new key from both sides of the door to ensure proper operation.

5. Operating the Handleset

- Locking from the Exterior: Insert the key into the deadbolt cylinder and turn to engage the deadbolt. The handleset can also be locked by turning the key.
- Unlocking from the Exterior: Insert the key into the deadbolt cylinder and turn to retract the deadbolt. The handleset can be unlocked by turning the key.
- Locking from the Interior: Turn the thumb-turn on the interior deadbolt to engage the deadbolt.
- Unlocking from the Interior: Turn the thumb-turn on the interior deadbolt to retract the deadbolt. The interior lever always allows for free exit.
