3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Battery

Before first use, fully charge the 20V Max 3.0Ah Lithium-Ion battery. Connect the fast charger to a standard power outlet and insert the battery pack into the charger. The charger's indicator light will show the charging status. Once fully charged, remove the battery from the charger.

3.2 Installing the Battery

Align the battery pack with the battery port on the grinder handle and slide it in until it clicks securely into place. Ensure it is firmly seated before operation.

3.3 Attaching the Auxiliary Handle

The auxiliary handle can be screwed into either of the two threaded holes on the grinder's gear housing. Choose the position that provides the most comfortable and controlled grip for your application. Tighten securely by hand.

3.4 Adjusting the Wheel Guard

The wheel guard protects against sparks and debris. It can be rotated to the desired position by loosening its clamp, adjusting, and then re-tightening. Ensure the guard is positioned to deflect debris away from you.

3.5 Installing/Changing Discs (Cutting/Grinding Wheels)

  1. Press the Spindle Lock Button: Locate the spindle lock button on the grinder head. Press and hold it to prevent the spindle from rotating.
  2. Loosen the Flange Nut: Use the included wrench to loosen and remove the outer flange nut.
  3. Place the Disc: Position the desired 4-1/2 inch (115mm) cutting or grinding wheel onto the inner flange, ensuring it is centered.
  4. Secure the Flange Nut: Replace the outer flange nut and tighten it firmly with the wrench while still holding the spindle lock button. Do not overtighten.
  5. Release Spindle Lock: Release the spindle lock button.

4. Operating the Angle Grinder

4.1 Starting and Stopping the Tool

To start the grinder, first press the safety button (located on the side of the handle) and then depress the ON/OFF switch. To stop the tool, release the ON/OFF switch. The electric brake will quickly stop the disc rotation.

4.2 Proper Grip and Control

Always hold the grinder firmly with both hands, one on the main handle and one on the auxiliary handle. Maintain a balanced stance. Ensure the work piece is securely clamped or held.

  • Cutting: Use a cutting disc. Apply light, consistent pressure. Allow the disc to do the work. Avoid twisting or binding the disc in the cut.
  • Grinding: Use a grinding disc. Hold the grinder at a slight angle (typically 15-30 degrees) to the workpiece. Move the grinder smoothly across the surface.
  • Material Compatibility: This grinder is suitable for various materials including metal, stone, and tile, depending on the disc used.

5. Maintenance
