1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your ZOSI H.265+ 5MP 3K Lite 8 Channel CCTV DVR Recorder. 3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Physical Connections

Follow these steps to connect your DVR system:

  1. Connect Cameras: Connect your analog, AHD, TVI, or CVI cameras to the BNC video input ports on the back of the DVR. Ensure secure connections.
  2. Connect Monitor: Connect a monitor to the DVR using either the VGA or HDMI port.
  3. Connect Mouse: Plug the included USB mouse into one of the USB ports on the DVR for navigation.
  4. Connect Network (Optional): For remote access, connect an Ethernet cable from the DVR's LAN port to your router.
  5. Connect Power: Connect the 12V/2A power supply to the DVR's DC 12V input and then plug it into a power outlet. The DVR will power on automatically.

3.2 Remote Access Setup (ZOSI Smart App)

To view and control your security system remotely, download the free ZOSI Smart app:

  1. Download App: Search for "ZOSI Smart" in your mobile device's app store (iOS or Android) and install it.
  2. Register Account: Open the app and follow the prompts to register a new account.
  3. Add Device: Scan the QR code on your DVR or manually enter the device ID to add your DVR to the app.
  4. Live View: Once added, you can access live video feeds from your cameras anytime, anywhere.

4. Operating the DVR System

4.1 AI Human & Vehicle Detection

The DVR features advanced AI-based detection to distinguish between human and vehicle movements, significantly reducing false alarms caused by environmental factors. You can customize detection zones for each camera to focus on critical areas and exclude private spaces.

4.2 Recording Modes

The ZOSI DVR offers four flexible recording modes, which can be customized for each camera:

  • Continuous Recording: Records footage 24/7.
  • Scheduled Recording: Records only during specified time periods.
  • Motion Detection Recording: Records only when motion is detected (recommended with AI detection for efficiency).
  • Recycle Recording: Automatically overwrites the oldest footage when the hard drive is full.

4.3 Local and Remote Playback

You can playback recorded footage directly from the DVR connected to a monitor or remotely via the ZOSI Smart app or ZOSI Client software on a PC/tablet. Use the timeline to easily search for specific events by date, hour, or minute.

4.4 Hybrid Capability and Compatibility

Important Compatibility Notes:

  • This DVR is not compatible with IPC or PoE cameras.
  • It does not support analog cameras above 5MP.
  • All cameras connected to this DVR must be wired, not wireless.
  • The DVR does not support data storage for ZOSI IPC products.

  • Clean Regularly: Gently clean the DVR unit and camera lenses with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Ventilation: Ensure the DVR is placed in a well-ventilated area to prevent overheating. Do not block ventilation openings.
  • Power Stability: Use a surge protector to protect the DVR from power fluctuations and surges.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the ZOSI official website for firmware updates to ensure your system has the latest features and security enhancements.
  • Data Backup: Regularly back up important footage to an external storage device if needed.

6. Troubleshooting
