7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your WAVLINK Thunderbolt 3 Dock Pro, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:
No Functionality / Device Not Recognized:
- Check Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the dock and a working power outlet. Verify the power indicator light on the dock is on.
- Verify Thunderbolt 3 Connection: Ensure the Thunderbolt 3 cable is securely connected to both the dock and your computer's Thunderbolt 3 port. Some USB-C ports do not support Thunderbolt 3.
- Restart Devices: Try restarting your computer and then powering the dock off and on.
- Driver Installation: Ensure your computer's Thunderbolt 3 drivers are up to date. Visit your computer manufacturer's website for the latest drivers.
- Test with Another Port/Computer: If possible, test the dock with a different Thunderbolt 3 port on your computer or with another Thunderbolt 3-enabled computer to isolate the issue.
Display Issues (No Display, Flickering, Incorrect Resolution):
- Check Cable Connections: Ensure all DisplayPort cables are securely connected between the dock and your monitors.
- Monitor Input Selection: Verify your monitors are set to the correct input source (e.g., DisplayPort 1, DisplayPort 2).
- Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure your computer's graphics drivers are up to date.
- Display Settings: Check your computer's display settings to ensure the monitors are detected and configured correctly (extend, duplicate, resolution).
- Cable Quality: For 4K@60Hz, high-quality DisplayPort cables are essential. Try different cables if issues persist.
USB Devices Not Working:
- Check USB Connection: Ensure the USB device is properly plugged into the dock.
- Test Directly: Connect the USB device directly to your computer to confirm it is functional.
- Power Requirements: Some high-power USB devices may require external power or may not function correctly if the dock's power delivery is insufficient for all connected devices.
Ethernet Connection Issues:
- Check Ethernet Cable: Ensure the Ethernet cable is securely connected to both the dock and your router/modem.
- Network Settings: Verify your computer's network settings are configured correctly (e.g., DHCP enabled).
- Router/Modem Status: Ensure your router or modem is working correctly and providing an internet connection.
