3. System Overview

3.1 Network Video Recorder (NVR)

The NVR is the central unit of your security system, responsible for recording, storing, and managing video footage from all connected cameras. It features a pre-installed 1TB hard drive for continuous recording.

3.2 Wireless IP Cameras

The system includes eight 1080P (2MP) wireless bullet cameras. These cameras are IP66 waterproof, making them suitable for both indoor and outdoor use. They feature infrared LEDs for night vision and built-in microphones for one-way audio recording.

4. Setup Guide

4.1 Initial NVR Connection

  1. Connect the NVR to a monitor (TV or PC) using the provided HDMI or VGA cable.
  2. Connect the USB mouse to one of the NVR's USB ports.
  3. Connect the NVR to its power adapter and plug it into an electrical outlet. The NVR will power on automatically.

4.2 Camera Installation and Power

  1. Mount the cameras in desired indoor or outdoor locations. The cameras are designed for both ceiling and wall mounting.
  2. Connect each camera to its respective power adapter and plug it into an electrical outlet. The cameras require continuous power for 24/7 operation.
  3. The cameras and NVR are pre-paired at the factory, so video feeds should appear on the monitor automatically once powered on.

4.3 Network Configuration for Remote Access

While the system can record and display video locally without internet, remote access requires the NVR to be connected to your router.

  1. Connect the NVR to your home router using the provided Ethernet cable.
  2. Ensure your router has an active internet connection.
  3. For mobile access, download the free "XMeye Pro" app from your device's app store. For PC access, contact SMONET support for the "VMS" software.

5. Operation

5.1 Live View and Recording

Once the system is set up, the NVR will automatically display live feeds from all connected cameras. The 1TB pre-installed hard drive allows for continuous 24/7 recording, supporting over 15 days of footage for 8 cameras.

5.2 Playback

You can review recorded footage directly from the NVR interface using the connected monitor and mouse, or remotely via the mobile app or PC software. The system supports synchronized playback.

5.3 Remote Access (Mobile App & PC Software)

The "XMeye Pro" app (iOS/Android) and "VMS" software (PC) allow you to view live feeds, play back recordings, and receive alerts from anywhere with an internet connection.

5.5 Audio Features

Each camera is equipped with a microphone, enabling one-way audio recording. This allows you to listen to sounds from the camera's vicinity through the NVR or remote viewing applications.

5.6 Night Vision

The cameras are equipped with 3pcs array infrared LEDs, providing clear night vision up to 65 feet in complete darkness. This ensures continuous surveillance capabilities regardless of lighting conditions.

5.7 Video Quality and Compression

The system records in 1080P Full HD (1920x1080P), offering significantly clearer images compared to 720P. Utilizing H.265+ video compression technology, the system efficiently doubles data compression ratio while maintaining high video quality, reducing network bandwidth usage, and saving up to 50% of storage space on the 1TB hard drive.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Hard Drive Management

The 1TB hard drive is pre-installed and configured for continuous recording. When the hard drive is full, the system will automatically overwrite the oldest footage. Regularly back up important video clips to an external USB drive if needed.

6.2 System Cleaning

Periodically clean the camera lenses with a soft, dry cloth to ensure optimal image clarity. Keep the NVR free from dust and ensure proper ventilation to prevent overheating.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Image on Monitor: Ensure the NVR is powered on, the monitor is connected correctly via HDMI/VGA, and the monitor input source is selected appropriately.
  • Cameras Not Displaying: Verify that each camera is powered on and within range of the NVR's wireless signal. The cameras and NVR are pre-paired; if a camera loses connection, check its power supply and proximity. The system features an "Auto Repeat" function to help cameras with poor signals connect through other cameras.
  • No Remote Access: Confirm the NVR is connected to your router via Ethernet cable and your router has an active internet connection. Check app settings and ensure the NVR's network status is online.
  • Poor Image Quality: Ensure camera lenses are clean. For wireless connections, try to minimize obstructions between cameras and the NVR.
  • False Motion Alerts: Adjust the motion detection sensitivity settings or configure specific AI Human Detection zones within the NVR interface or mobile app to reduce unwanted notifications.
  • No Audio: Check if the audio recording feature is enabled in the NVR settings. Ensure the camera's microphone is not obstructed.
