1. Introduction

The Fujifilm Instax Mini 11 is an instant camera designed for ease of use, featuring automatic exposure and a dedicated selfie mode. This manual provides instructions for setting up, operating, and maintaining your camera.

Key features include:

3. Camera Parts

Familiarize yourself with the main components of your Instax Mini 11 camera:

  • Shutter Button: Press to take a photo.
  • Flash: Provides illumination for photos in low light.
  • Lens: The primary optical component for capturing images.

  • Film Ejection Slot: Where printed photos emerge.
  • Film Counter: Indicates the number of remaining films.

4. Setup

4.1 Inserting Batteries

  1. Open the battery compartment cover located on the side of the camera.
  2. Insert two AA-size alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  3. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2 Loading Film

Use only Fujifilm Instax Mini Instant Film.

  1. Open the film compartment cover on the back of the camera.
  2. Align the yellow mark on the film pack with the yellow mark on the camera body.
  3. Insert the film pack straight into the compartment. Do not press down on the film pack.
  4. Close the film compartment cover. The film counter will display 'S' (Start) and then '10' after the dark slide is ejected.
  5. Press the shutter button once to eject the black protective film cover. The film counter will then show '10', indicating 10 photos remaining.

Important: Do not open the film compartment cover until all 10 films have been used, as this will expose the film and render it unusable.

5. Operation

5.1 Powering On/Off

  • To turn on: Press the power button next to the lens. The lens will extend, and the flash charging lamp will light up.
  • To turn off: Push the lens back into the camera body.

5.2 Taking a Photo

  1. Turn on the camera by pressing the power button.
  2. Wait for the flash charging lamp to glow steadily (not blinking). This indicates the flash is ready.
  3. Hold the camera firmly and frame your shot using the viewfinder.
  4. Press the shutter button. The photo will automatically eject from the film ejection slot.
  5. Allow the photo to develop naturally. Do not shake or bend the print.

5.3 Automatic Exposure

The Instax Mini 11 features automatic exposure, eliminating the need for manual adjustments. The camera senses the ambient light and optimizes the shutter speed and flash output to ensure subjects and backgrounds are properly exposed, even in challenging lighting conditions.

5.4 Selfie Mode

For close-up shots and selfies:

  1. With the camera powered on, pull the front rim of the lens barrel outwards until the 'SELFIE ON' mark appears.
  2. Hold the camera at arm's length (approximately 30-50 cm from your face).
  3. Use the small mirror next to the lens to check your framing.
  4. Press the shutter button to take the selfie.
  5. To exit selfie mode, push the lens barrel back into the camera body.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera body. For the lens and viewfinder, use a lens cleaning cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: Store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if the camera will not be used for an extended period.
  • Film Handling: Store film packs in their original packaging in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposing film to high temperatures or direct sunlight.

7. Troubleshooting
