2. Product Overview

3. Setup

Before first use, rinse both reservoirs thoroughly with clean water. This kit is intended for use with an existing Platypus GravityWorks filter system (sold separately).

1. Inspect Components: Ensure both the Dirty and Clean reservoirs are free from any damage or debris.
2. Connect to Filter System:
   • Attach the quick-disconnect fitting of the Dirty reservoir to the inlet hose of your GravityWorks filter.
   • Attach the quick-disconnect fitting of the Clean reservoir to the outlet hose of your GravityWorks filter.

3. 4. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps to effectively use your GravityWorks Replacement Reservoir Kit with your filter system:

1. Fill Dirty Reservoir: Open the top slide-seal closure of the Dirty reservoir. Collect untreated water from your source. Ensure the water source is as clear as possible to extend filter life. Close the slide-seal securely.
2. Hang Reservoirs: Hang the Dirty reservoir higher than the Clean reservoir. The height difference creates the necessary gravity for water flow through the filter. Ensure the Dirty reservoir is securely suspended to prevent it from falling when full.
3. Begin Filtration: Open any shut-off clamps on your filter system's hoses to allow water to flow from the Dirty reservoir, through the filter, and into the Clean reservoir.

5. Collect Clean Water: Once the Clean reservoir is filled, close any shut-off clamps. The filtered water is now ready for consumption.

5. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and hygiene of your reservoirs.

• Cleaning After Each Use:
  • Empty any remaining water from both reservoirs.
  • Rinse the Dirty reservoir with clean water. For thorough cleaning, use a mild soap solution and a bottle brush, then rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
  • Rinse the Clean reservoir with clean water. Avoid using soap in the Clean reservoir unless absolutely necessary, and ensure thorough rinsing if used.
• Drying: It is crucial to dry the reservoirs completely to prevent mold and mildew growth. Open the slide-seal closure and hang the reservoirs upside down in a well-ventilated area. You may need to prop them open to allow air circulation. Complete drying can take several hours.
• Storage: Once completely dry, store the reservoirs with the slide-seal closure open or loosely closed to allow for continued air circulation. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
• Disinfection (Optional): For periodic disinfection, a solution of 1/4 teaspoon of household bleach per liter of water can be used. Fill the reservoir with the solution, let it sit for 30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with clean water and air dry.
