Programming Codes

Your deadbolt supports one Master Code and up to 10 User Codes. The Master Code is used for programming and should be kept confidential. User Codes are for daily entry.

Setting the Master Code (First Time Setup)

The lock comes with a default programming code. You must change this to your unique Master Code immediately after installation.

  1. Open the battery cover on the interior assembly.
  2. Press the "Program" button (usually a small button on the interior assembly). The keypad will illuminate.
  3. Enter the default Master Code (refer to a sticker on the interior assembly or quick start guide, typically 123456).
  4. Press the "LOCK" button.
  5. Enter your new Master Code (4-10 digits).
  6. Press the "LOCK" button again to confirm. A successful tone will sound.

Adding User Codes

  1. Press the "Program" button.
  2. Enter your Master Code.
  3. Press the "LOCK" button.
  4. Enter a new User Code (4-10 digits).
  5. Press the "LOCK" button again to confirm. A successful tone will sound.
  6. Repeat for additional user codes (up to 10).

Deleting User Codes

  1. Press the "Program" button.
  2. Enter your Master Code.
  3. Press the "LOCK" button.
  4. Enter the User Code you wish to delete.
  5. Press the "LOCK" button again. A successful tone will sound, and the code will be deleted.

Note: Individual user codes cannot be deleted. To remove a user code, you typically need to reset all user codes or overwrite them. Consult the specific instructions that came with your lock for advanced programming options.

Maintenance

  • Battery Replacement: When the batteries are low, the lock may emit a series of beeps or the keypad may not illuminate as brightly. Replace all 4 AA batteries promptly. Always use new, high-quality alkaline batteries.
  • Cleaning: Clean the lock's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the finish and electronic components.
  • Door Alignment: Periodically check that your door and frame are properly aligned. Misalignment can cause the deadbolt to bind, leading to excessive battery drain or malfunction.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Lock does not respond or keypad does not light up. Dead batteries. Replace all 4 AA batteries with new ones.
Lock beeps continuously after entering code. Incorrect code entered. Re-enter the correct Master or User Code. Ensure no numbers are skipped or repeated.
Deadbolt does not extend/retract smoothly. Door/frame misalignment; Latch binding. Check door and frame alignment. Ensure the strike plate is properly positioned. Lubricate the latch mechanism if necessary (use a silicone-based lubricant).
Cannot program new codes. Incorrect Master Code; Batteries low; Programming sequence error. Verify Master Code. Replace batteries. Review programming steps carefully.
Keypad is unresponsive. Temporary electronic glitch. Remove batteries for 30 seconds, then reinsert them to reset the lock.
